P3 Record Player left on for 4days.... did I trash my cartridge?

I have an 8 month old Rega P3.  I was listening to a record the other night and decided to compare the sound to the same album streaming on Tidal.  So I switched inputs on my integrated.... long story short, I forgot the record player was on.  Went out of town for 4 days, came back and saw the needle had grooved a white line on the record.  I'm not worried about the record because the groove is past the playing area, but wondering if I damaged my cartridge.
