ordering from China.....which Chinese Tube Integrated at 3k?
seeking advice please,
I've become intrigued recently by these relatively low priced 3k-ish tube amps
the bigger seemingly more reputable sellers appear to also offer refunds
the contenders from I can see are the Willsenton R800i series and a heap of various Line Magnetics (508 ia, 518ia, 608 ia)
I like the balanced inputs on the Willsenton but the overall weight I don't like
my speakers are in the area of 89db sensitivity
can anybody recommend the above models?
AI for what it’s worth "AI Overview No, Cayin does not make PrimaLuna. While both are tube amplifier brands, they are distinct companies. PrimaLuna is a Dutch brand, founded by Herman van den Dungen, that designs its products in the Netherlands and manufactures them in China according to Durob Audio. Cayin, on the other hand, is a Chinese brand according to Vinyl Revival. Some early Cayin models and PrimaLuna models share design similarities, and it’s been suggested they may have been manufactured in the same factory. However, they are not the same company. " |
@audiocanada There's a Canadian building tube equipment under the name Fluxion Audio Design; he doesn't have a website; he sells his stuff on audiomart. His products are well within your price range. I bought a 300B integrated amp and a 6sn7 tube preamp for a 2nd system, both were under $1500 USD. All point-to-point wiring and he custom makes all the transformers on his own winding machines. His YouTube channel shows measurements and electrical performances to back up his work. |
I like Line Magnetic and I own the 216Ia. It is well built and sounds fantastic. I bought it from a dealer in the USA, Don Better Audio. He has taken care of me and that’s the only way I would buy the brand. I also like Rogue Audio integrated, which I also own. Good luck with your search and watch out for those tariff fees. |
