One box solution

Hello Everyone,

I finally hit a wall with my health, I am almost 72 and have to downsize and move to a facility. It’s a very nice place but a lot smaller and my current set up can’t go so it’s all going in to storage.

I am looking for a one box solution, the Naim Uniti Atom comes to mind but I am looking for better if that’s possible. My budget is 15k or less and has to have a remote, I don’t get around so good. Actually need bookshelf type speaker suggestions too…so 15k or less for speakers and 15k or less for a all in one intergrated…I will only stream so the box needs to have a Dac and everything built in, airplay, and Quboz…maybe the Uniti Atom is the best solution but was hoping for something better…thanks..

The link below is a photo of my nearfield system. I tried to send a picture, but that didn't work for me, I don't know how. Anyway, Silverfox, you might like a nearfield setup. It sounds better than most people would imagine. I'm using Monsoon MM-700 speakers. They are plannar magnetic with a cone driver for low frequencies.

It's so nice to lay down on the couch with the iPad and good sounds. The system is attached to a shelf which is attached to the back of the couch.

There is a story about a man who was worse off than you were. He spent a decade or two and about one million dollars creating the ultimate stereo and listening room. It had only one seat in the ultimate sweet spot so only one person could listen to this system. He burdened his family, costing them their free time helping him build the system. When he finished, he came down with ALS and has just under a year to live.

If such a dream system has only one seat possible to approach perfection, he would have been better off using headphones and having time and energy to hear the music over the quality of the system. Even in live concert halls, the acoustics varies from sometimes arbitrary sound qualities.

This is why you should put priority on headphones.

Dutch & Cutch 8C-good choice.

I'm 69 and have gone the opposite of the $1+ million system, creating a room and system that one can enjoy on a 10' wide sofa, standing, laying down on the floor.  It is the speaker that accomplishes most of that, the Von Schweikert VR9 SE Mk2.  I will never downsize and upsized just 5 years ago which helped store my 3,000 books and 18,000 of my 61,100 recordings (not in the usual living areas).

A two way monitor with out of the way powered subs would provide a potentially great sound with superior imaging.  So many to choose from.  Used high end integrated and a small great sounding Topping D70s DAC and equally low cost streamer can provide you with ample digital music (although I prefer CDs, and a small, inexpensive Shanling ET3 transport would be great).

First off, sorry to hear of your situation.

Second, that is a nice system you've assembled. I agree that I'd find someone to buy/sell it, you, and donate the cash if you wish......you'll make a bigger contribution to humanity that way

Third, look at the Dutch & Dutch 8C all in one speakers (not the Studio version), built in streamer (Roon or Spotifty right now, Qobuz/Tidal coming), built in DAC, built in amps, built in DSP if you want, excellent full range speakers with built in subwoofers, and connections for other devices if you wish.

Best of luck to you

OP,I HIGHLY suggest that you have a good, long look at Advance Paris Audio..They have everything you could possibly need including Streamer/USB DAC/excellent headphone & a few models are Tube/SS hybrids!!!
I can attest to their superb sound, ergonomics & build quality + you will save about $12,000.00 off your max budget!!!
