one box solution?
From what I read the general consensus for best sound quality was roon + HQplayer + core (to be kept in another room!) to renderer + power supply to additional signal enhancers to DAC. A few weeks later it's just pick up a one box server, software included. In concept, is this accurate? I was just going to pay for a HQplayer and though the license alone is 20% the cost of the cheapest Innuos.

By itself, it doesn’t have anything to do with sound quality. I’m not sure what you mean by "signal enhancers" but I don’t think there’s any consensus on that, either. |

There are dozens of DACs now that would have been considered world class 20 years ago. I'd say it wouldn't take more than a low tier converter being fed by a good streamer to best that Marantz. Oz |
