@mikepowellaudio I was in the Magico room this year briefly and it sounded stoopid, not saying you’re wrong there..... But, i also swung by your room for a minute at CAF the year before....where you towered over everyone with some dinky li’l speaker made of fill dirt? gravel? whatever, ROFL. It sounded so puny, flaccid and sorry that i ran outta there in 30 secs. It was like your fill-dirt/gravel speaker was apologizing for those 30 secs (the speaker kept saying "I’m sorrryyyyyyyy"). ROFL
Before you talk big, ya gotta execute big as well on your own, don’t cha think amiho? ROFL
...Well...I shouldn’t laugh so much, cos i actually felt a li’l sorry for you that day. But, I wish you well, better luck next time.
So, lets deal with what’s REAL. Lets only listen to members who actually were AT the show and IN the failed Magico room. (Most of you dont leave your home for audio and have no idea what we are talking about. But boy, you love to HATE people you dont know dont you ? I feel bad for your soul).
I stand by what I said. If you were there, and think that room sounded good, you need some listening lessons. The feedback was unanimous. A failed room. Am I willing to say M9 are crappy speakers ? Not at all. My comment was that the SETUP was a poor choice and poor execution.
So if youd like to discuss that, lets discuss what this thread is actually about. Not about your hatred for others. Mostly by armchair blowhards with no reasonable audio system nor any experience in the industry.
So lets see if this group can handle a real conversation. Its about the Magico ROOM. This thread originator wanted to see if other people who had been at the show agree with me about the most expensive room at AXPONA being a failure. Looks like the people who were actually there agree. Even others replying have had similar experiences with so called "mega expensive" rooms that simply dont cut the mustard. Its not uncommon.
I feel that by ALL MEANS you should question every audio spokesperson you are listening to on YouTube. Any of them telling you the Magico room sounded good should flip a red flag about either their expertise in listening or their possible financial reason to promote. Find out what dealer is engaging their promotion services. What manufacturer is hiring them. I happen to be on the inside of this and know a lot more about who is paying who for what. Unfortunately you, the viewer is the unknowing recipient of paid advertising cloaked as "reviews" or commentary/coverage.
I may be raw and uncut, but you can bet Im not paid by a corporation to be this way. Its my way of hinting to you that Im different than the other paid YouTube advertisers. Im not doing favors or getting paid to fluff certain brands the way the very nice, calm and soft spoken guys are. Consider it may be a corporate "politically correct" demeanor for a corporate client. In other words they need to attract new companies to pay them, and who is going to pay a wingnut like me ? Its a clear message to you that Im not paid, as Im not controllable.;-)
I do however sell like crazy and make many people happy to get off the merry go round of buying and selling audio gear. This is my 25 year career, not a "side gig" and Ive got patents in audio design and have owned a long standing California Amplifier manufacturer. Most of you have no idea the depth and breadth of my experience.
So there you have it. All this because of one sentence I mentioned on my livestream on my channel on another web platform. . I guess my word must carry weight for people to get so flustered. So, as much as some of you who dont know me, love to hate me, I am getting stronger and stronger because I actually provide great results consistently. and I actually exhibit at the shows as well.. to prove myself in an open, public forum for you to judge my skill.. not just blab my mouth on TV.. I also open my livestream
to live, unedited, real time call ins for anyone that wishes to bring a topic or issue or debate to my platform...
So here I am open to conversation for you all.. Lets have a discussion..
