Pete, I think he has a cable doing damage and wants to get it fixed.
Hello HFC friends, i'm Werner from Germany and I have a problem with an HFC CT-1 E cinch cable. A magnetic plug has problems, one channel keeps failing. There's a problem with the plug. I can't open the plug, the disc with the two holes won't open, no chance with special pliers, it's as if it's welded shut!! The stereo pair of cinch is now junk, a rat from England sold it to me. Does anyone have similar problems with HFC? A picture of my system: Line Magnetic LM-812, shindo amps, Jays audio cd drive, linnenberg dac, akiko audio passive filter, cable: HFC CT-1 E and Audience au24 SX/ se. Audience au24 SX create better spatial depth, gradation in depth, more neutral, better for my large horns. HFC are more foreground and push instruments forward. Best regards and sorry for my poor English Werner |

Furthermore, the HFC plugs are destroying my sockets in the Shindo amps (switchcraft) and my very expensive ETI RESEARCH FRTC072, that sucks!!!
Best regards and sorry for my poor English Werner

nasaman Yes i have 2 pair of new XLR interconnects and about a week ago new speaker cables. The interconnect replaced my Transparent Reference xl XLRs mm2. In all honesty they crushed them sound wise. So i ordered the matching speaker cables, will report in a few days on them. Rick is doing well on a much smaller scale. So far his new cables-power cords are better than his original High Fidelity line. That i have experienced. |
I was able to get my all my upgraded Cables (Pro series ) from Rick just before he closed up the operation in Texas. A lot of Audiophiles complain about the cost but, there are more expensive Cables out there that dont perform as well. I was able to pay a reasonable price for my cables. Upgrade to something else ?. Be prepared to spend a lot more. I was able to get the latest edition Pro series Digital cable, a few months ago (AES/XLR), the best I have heard . HFC is the Reference Cable in my system from top to bottom. You can find some used stuff that pop up from time to time on Audiomart and here. All incredible , fantastic sound (if you can deal with the Wave Guides. The Power cords are Ridiculous 😍. Happy Listening, Enjoy the Music.

@agisthos I’ll pm you as to not derail thread. |
@rx8man I have the HFC Ultimate Reference digital and IC cables and nothing I try has been able to best them. Tchernov Ultimate line? |
+1 willgolf @louisl or continue to purchase used HFC if you like the sound. |
I saw the news and although a great guy this is the second time his cable company has gone under. If you recall he owned and operated Virtual Dynamics which was a pretty good cable until they got soo incredibly expensive and eventually lost market share and interest and went under. he moved to the US from Canada I do believe and operated in Texas and I had listened to High Fidelity cables but never heard anything special with them ....except for the price once again. He may need to go back to the proverbial '' drawing board '' and come up with a new business model as the past two have not worked out. I wish him well as he is talented and maybe the third time will be a charm for his next endeavor. |
