No love for Cube Audio speakers?

I have been trying to sell my Cube Audio Jazzon V-1 speakers for several months unsuccessfully.  They are wonderful speakers in all respects, but I am going in a different direction as I often do.  I am selling them for 45% of their retail price.  Any thoughts?

With past Covid supply problems and the inflation, less “hobby” money available.

Might be a great time for buyers…if they had the money…

Steveymo,

They are listed on the other forum where there is no cost to list gear.  ;-).

Aewarren, you are correct with that statement.  There is a price at which they will sell and I certainly with join a vast group of audiophiles who experience buttdarts when they part with gear.

I have transacted with TMR in the past on the buy side so I will certainly follow your suggestion and contact them.  The hell of it that is will cost me at least a grand to get them shipped there on pallets with their wood crates, heavy as coffins, but maybe they can help on the shipping end.  I see no alternative to local or regional sales.

I thank you all for responding with alternatives and encouragement.  As I note above, as I am inclined to swap gear from time to time and with future audio purchases, I will take into consideration the likelihood of my ability to recapture a larger share of the retail price when I got to sell.  Spending ~$9K on speakers less than 2 years ago with no ability to recover close to 50% of my original expense on pristine gear has been a real eye-opener for me and my pocketbook... I am not that affluent.  Cheers and thanks again for the comments.  Mark

Oh, a final thought.  I have used Pirate Ship and Shippo to ship gear and they are routinely nearly half the price of direct shipping with FEDEX, UPS, and USPS.  I encourage you to see if they might be right for your shipping needs.  The retail cost of shipping queers a lot of potential transactions.  However, neither company will deal with gear like my speakers that can only be shipped on a pallet.

Yes, it's a buyer's market, but buyers are still not buying waiting for the price to come down. Sellers stop selling as well at some point because it makes little sense, and eventually at some sudden moment economy as we know it no longer exists. Isn't it a great picture ?

Your pricing and expectations seem fair.  The freight is brutal and will likely eat away at your sales price.  I’ve got 2 pieces of gear listed and have gotten plenty of offers but all low ball offers.  The are Preamps so freight isn’t that big an issue but everyone is looking for bigger discounts than what I have seen in the past.  I’m likely going to end the listings as it’s more valuable for me to hold onto the gear.  Either way inflation, tariffs and who knows what else, my replacement cost is way up, it’s only a matter of time for the market to cycle and used gear pricing which is depressed right now to rise.  Good luck!  They look like great speakers, love the color!  I’d buy them but I’m on the East Coast and freight would be insane.
