Just want to wish all a very Merry Christmas and thank you all for the kind words. Ozzy...I am going to get you on those Matrix power cords! Hugs. Bob Cerious Technologies |
I have tried it and it works great... Bob |
Hi everybody...Bob from Cerious. Yes we do offer two different versions of the Matrix interconnects ; "Standard" which has no damping jacket and look much like Graphene Extreme on the outside, and "Damping Squared" which employs a sophisticated damping jacket. The Standard are cheaper ($999 pair vs $1249 pair RCA) and more flexible, but the Damping Squared sound better. Best guess the Standard are 90% of the DS. As Audiophiles we know that the last 10% is the hardest to achieve and the most costly. So far we have sold the Damping Squared as most are upgrading from GE. If I pushed the Standard, customers would ask me why I sold them this when there is something "Better" out there. I always recommend to go with the DS version simply because it is the ultimate expression of the Matrix line. Orders: yes we are currently slow. I moved my son from Michigan shortly before Christmas to join the company and help with production. Teaching and training slows down the process but will - in the long run - enable me to focus on things like communication which clearly everyone would appreciate(!). We assumed that with the introduction of Matrix that it would take some wind out of the sails of Graphene Extreme, but nothing could be further from the truth - sales have only increased on the GE. Believe me we are working long hours to get out PERFECT Matrix line cables and will get faster. It is tough to track who has posted discussing delays as posting IDs are different than names and trying to figure out who is who is a brain teaser. Just write me at rgrost@cerioustechnologies.com or call 623-703-9771 (especially you John!) and I will try to be available to answer the phone. The Matrix is worth the wait and we are going absolutely as fast as we can but never compromising quality. Thank you so much and Happy New Year! Bob CT |
Thank you for the feedback on the website. My daughter is the designer and I am flying her in to Phoenix in 10 days to "flesh out" the site. I will take any feedback you may have Ceriously and will attempt to make you all as happy as possible... Bob CT |
Let me know your reactions on lifting the Matrix off the floor. I really have to do my evaluations with it sitting on the floor, as that is how most will experience it. If you find it helps I will design something really cool you can diy... Bob Grost |
I am now staring at a Matrix power cord wrapped neatly around a 4" in diameter (2" radius) cylinder. This is very flexible. I think the problem is that customers need the cables to kink almost immediately as it comes out of the connector because equipment is pushed so close to the wall. With over 40 years experience and setting up around 500 systems in my life I can tell you that you do want your equipment or cables pushed right up against a wall. Walls have all sorts of crap running through them - AC, digital cable, and other things that wreak havoc on audio systems. Pull your rack out 6" and all these problems go away. It will also help with the nightmare of hooking up new equipment. The nature of the Matrix conductors and damping jackets is outlined on our website. "Metallurgy" does not apply, as they are a sophisticated composite. Thanks everybody! Bob CT |
Just to let everyone know I have pulled all the ads for the trade in Graphene Extreme. All I got was questions, questions, questions with "customers" (you really cannot call someone a customer who never buys anything) trying to finagle a deal. "How much is shipping for the GE power cord?". "$8.00...that is great...I will take it". "Oh BTW I live in South Korea and $8.00 shipping is great. I didn't mention I live in Korea when I asked for shipping costs because I didn't see how it was relevant...". "Oh BTW, we use Schuko connectors here...I assume these come with Schuko connectors. If not you will have to pull the connectors off of these and put on new Schuko connectors before you send them to me." I was spending more time dealing with stuff like this than filling Matrix orders. No more...totally fed up. I will give it to friends for free. I will still gladly accept orders for new Graphene Extreme. If you are a repeat customer talk to me and I will take care of you on the trade ins (Not for FREE, though...). Sorry to vent but OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes...I am still here! The actual gauge of the power cords, as with all of our cables are difficult to specify. Gauge standards are specific to wire based conductors. A pure Graphene conductor, for example, is about 1,000,000,000 gauge, but has lower resistance than a pure Silver wire the diameter of a basketball. We employ wire based backbones of 9 gauge, then add Carbon Fiber, Graphene, and Liquid Ceramic. What does this come out to in wire based terms? No idea. You cannot express composite conductors in terms that do not apply. There simply is no standard for composite conductors because everything is based on data used to computer model materials and cutting edge composites cannot be modeled because they are too radical and no data exists. This is why composites used in commercial airliners are 25 year old, because they can only model materials they have extensive history and data for. I model everything in my head and do no prototypes. The first Matrix cables produced were direct to production. I plugged them in and verified "Yep...that is what they are supposed to perform like." "Let's go..." As some brilliant Audiophile once said "The proof is in the lisnin..." Thanks! Bob CT |
I prefer "Sonic Hologram Projector..." That sounds REALLY expensive. Bob CT |
Yep...who needs to go to the gym when can just lift huge bags of money to keep in shape. The bags read "Bank of the Land of OZ..." on them!
Bob |
Hi everybody...Bob from Cerious... Connectors are such a pain. Everyone has a favorite! We try to offer the best possible performance at the lowest cost. We demand intrinsic value. Many connectors today are little more than jewelry and are actually more poorly made than the knock offs that cost 1/10 the price. We do not use Viborg connectors. We do have our connectors custom made by the parent company to our parameters of plating and clearances. It is fascinating to deal with Chinese companies who can make anything you want - you just have to be very specific about what you want. Now...addressing Furutech connectors. I have never had an experience with Furutech connectors that was positive. While it is impressive to polish the internal metal parts to a high shine, the parts of the connector that screw together to clamp the connector housing in place over the cable so it does not spin requires some friction only available with a rough surface. My son had to reef on the connector to get it even close to being stable. It still had movement and wound up shorting by how much pressure was exerted on the internal conductors. Those of you who have dealt with us in the past know that we go more than the extra mile to take care of our customers. We can no longer deal with Furutech connectors. Just too difficult to work with in the configuration of the Matrix conductors and damping jacket. Thanks everybody! Bob |
Responding to Shadow... Yes sometimes we screw up. Sometimes we are buried in orders. We try to service our customers as well as possible. I was contacted that "the heatshrink had come loose" on his speaker cables. I got the cables back and both spades on the same channel had been torn off. When I wrote him to find out what gives he responded "Well the heatshrink IS loose..." If you got into a front end collision in your car at 40 mph and called a body shop and said "I have a paint chip on my hood..." and then had the car towed in, they might have a few questions. Still the cables are on their way back and working as new. We are trying to be better at communication. Still our weakness and my bad. I would never keep a customer's cable, however. |
Big news! We figured out how to make Matrix Interconnects up to 4 Meters in length. OMG are they a pain to make but they sound as good as 1 Meters. If you are interested email me. We will be adding them to the website... again thanks.... Bob CT |
Bob from Cerious: We are shutting down for the next week August 12-19 for vacation. Need to re-charge and get organized again. Thank you all so much and will check emails from time to time! Bob |
Glad to hear you are a happy customer. It makes the job of making a 12 foot Matrix power cord worth it! Hint...making a 12 footer is not a simple task. I know...WAH...WAH...Wah...It will get way better as it settles, too. Bob CT |
Hi everybody. Sorry for the lack of posting. My daughter had our first Grandchild and she had a troubled pregnancy, which would normally have not been that big of a deal but with all the Covid going on it was a nightmare. No one allowed to visit in the Hospital or see the child that was in ICU as it was a Premature birth. Travel to and from Omaha was a hassle. Everyone doing fine now and trying to get back to "normal" which is exactly what the powers that be do not want. Steven Jobs dreamed of a world where everyone sat at home and their only connection with the world was through a screen they controlled. Now we have Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter...all creating as much panic as possible to keep us "safe" behind our screens. My wife is a mail carrier and her Amazon deliveries are up 40%! I lived most of my life in Michigan and my heart goes out to my friends still stuck there. As a Physicist I have witnessed the death of Science over the last 25 years as academia willingly traded the tenets of sound science for grant money. We are almost into this for six months and we still are not sure if we should wear masks, much less what particle size the virus actually is so we know what kind of mask will actually work...because we all know that a mask is a mask and they are all the same! Cerious is back to work and will do everything possible to take great care of you our customers. If you want anything just ask. Best to keep me busy. When I am left alone with time on my hands I start coming up with ideas! Or as my wife would say "Oh no, not again!". |
Hi Everybody, I am posting to apologize, as I went to China for 10 days to meet with suppliers and also some fun. Before I went I forwarded all my business email to my personal gmail account, which I found out is blocked by the Chinese government. Everything Google is blocked in China! I am back and catching up as quick as I can. Thanks to everyone for their patience! Perhaps Tiger Woods will pay me to go back so he can win again... Bob |
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Bob CT |
Happy Cyber Monday everybody! This is Bob from Cerious Technologies. Well you asked for it and here it is. Cyber Monday deal, buy one Graphene Matrix power cord at the regular price and get a second one for HALF price! The half price cord can be any of equal or shorter length than the first. So...No...you cannot buy a 3 foot cord at regular price and get a 16 foot cord for half price. The Black Friday blowout of Graphene Extreme is going great so feel free to add to the insanity. Thank you all so much and we have an ad on Audiogon or you can contact us directly. Bob CT |
Sorry about the ad disappearing...My darn customers keep on buying! You GUYS... I will offer this deal through Christmas to repeat customers and another week for newbies. You can just email me directly. We are going a little crazy here but all in a good way... Bob Cerious Technologies |
Hi Everyone, A quick note on why the Matrix sounds the same in different lengths. Most traditional cables are mass produced in a spool and this wire is them spooled off and cut to length. So...each length will sound different. Since we hand make each conductor, we computer model each conductor at each length and build it to the exact model length. In simpler terms, we make each conductor differently varying by length. The "mix" of components and gauge of metal based conductors will vary by how long it is. We design and construct cables to perform in a specific manner and dial in the parameters of each conductor to ensure they all perform like a Matrix conductor should each and every time. This is the ONLY way to ensure that you have a cable that performs the way as designed. Otherwise you get to play Goldilocks with lengths until you find one that is "just right..." Bob CT |
Hi Everyone, Bob from Cerious. What am I working on? I am working on developing a USB cable, but am trying to deal with the shortcomings of the USB interface. Basically my cables are exposing flaws in the medium that render music "analytical" rather than the organic sound you have come to expect from Cerious and just not a sound I want to listen to for extended periods. The root problem is the +5V going through the cable which is noisy coming from the computer or source device. I have solved this by generating a separate +5V in place of the normal voltage but I have never produced a powered cable before so am working on packaging and despite how pricey the Matrix is I strive for sanity in pricing. Will keep you posted. My wife has ordered me to upgrade our entire system as we went to a friend's house who has the latest ReacT speakers we made several years ago with analog front end and one of my custom racks that feature reactive damping and Carbon Fiber main structure. She ordered me to buy a top of the line VPI turntable, build us a custom rack, and custom ReacT speakers with subwoofers good to 15 Hertz (she is a bass freak...who knew?). Women can be so demanding! Oh and I need to make us custom amps because she likes to listen to rock concerts at rock concert levels (who knew?). God I love this woman... So I will be busy for a while so no need to worry that the Matrix will be obsolete anytime soon. Hugs...and keep warm! |
Hi everyone...Bob here from Cerious. Well the world has flat out gone crazy. I am experiencing things I never have before. The breakdown of common courtesy. I have had two orders of full looms. One the customer said they just did not feel comfortable going ahead as times were "precarious" and they changed their mind (after the whole order was ready to ship...). The second was a local customer (Scottsdale) who said they could come and pick it up in person. I should never start an order before getting paid but since we were shooting for the weekend I went gung ho and completed it ( I am in the doghouse with the wife over this one...). The customer never paid, never returned an email. Just disappeared. Maybe they got a great deal on some cables from the trunk of someone's car who just looted...oh excuse me...liberated a high end store. Hopefully they were thoughtful enough to pick up a Coach purse for their wife as over 400 were cleaned out of the Scottsdale Coach store. So...I am offering a list of the cables I have available and I will give a very good deal. My faith in humanity is already on life support so no 90% off offers please! Here goes: [3 pair] 1.5M RCA Matrix Damping Squared IC [3 pair] 1.5M XLR Matrix Damping Squared IC

Since I used to have a sense of humor I would normally end on some witty remark but these are not allowed anymore. Thank God for music! Peace to all and thank you so much for being such a great group of customers. Stay safe and speak truth to power (that is something that has flipped 180 degrees in the last three weeks!). Bob Cerious |
I have heard of problems with the website but it has come right up when I checked it. I sure hope we are not out of business! It would be hard to explain why we have so many orders... |
I was just contacted by my web master and there is a problem. We are working on it and will keep you posted...thanks! Bob |
I guess I am changing Internet service providers. Three help tickets and no communication and no website. Will keep you posted. Please email me to my personal rgrost@gmail.com... Bob CT |
Apparently our ISP (Internet service provider) has gone out of business. We are working non-stop to get up and running again but have needed to re-build the site and move everything to another provider. Please have patience and we will be up and running best guess by the weekend. Sometimes life is a trial... Bob CT |
Good news! We are back up and running. Still getting the email straightened out but we have progress. I wish I could take a nap... Bob CT |
Well I think we finally have a working website that actually forwards our contact submissions to us. We have not been getting any so our valued customers have requested information and they have been being sent to (my guess) the Green zone in Afghanistan (this would explain all the submissions asking if we ship to Minnesota...). No we are not uncaring or indifferent...we are just incompetent (hey this works for politicians!). PLEASE contact us again or write me directly at rgrost@gmail.com. Honest I really do love you guys.... Bob CT |
Bob from Cerious...Yes we offer a full 30 day trial and longer if you request it. Speaker cables can take a while to break in. Sorry for communication faults...we are still dealing with email and forwarding problems from our original ISP going out of business. You do not see many used Cerious cables because either customers keep them (Matrix return rate is 2%!) or they trade them in for full 100% of original purchase price on other Cerious products. P.S. You will see a Matrix USB cable within a month! |
But Bob is such a pain to deal with...:-)!!!! |
Hello from the Hot Desert of Phoenix, AZ. Good news! Our USB cable is done. VERY happy with the results. I first, however, have to address that it is not a powered version of a USB. This proved to be fraught with interface problems as many equipment manufacturers have their own specialized way of addressing the +5V in the USB and bypassing this causes problems. That and cost. If it is a TRUE Matrix, then it requires a Matrix power cable and a power supply worthy of being called Matrix. Add an enclosure robust enough to handle a Matrix power cord and you are looking at a $2700 USB cable (!). While there are USB cables out there at this price point, Cerious is not "geared" for something like this. Call me crazy... So our production USB is a full Graphene Matrix Damping Squared digital cable + a Graphene Matrix DC cable all in one jacket (yes it has the reactive jacket found in all Damping Squared Matrix products). As a thank you for all the interest we are offering our GM USB for the introductory price of $849 for a 1M. We would have to sell a separate GM DC cable for at least $399 (yes we are working on this!) so you can see the value this cable brings, not to mention attaching 4 effectively 9 gauge conductors into a USB connector (I go through a lot of eye drops...). Of course everything we sell comes with our 30 day money back policy (we still get emails asking if we have a money back policy...strange...). If you would like to try one then email me directly or go to our website and hit the submission request button and let me know you want one. I will return an invoice so we can get you taken care of. Thank everyone so much for all the kind words and I hope you all are having a great summer. Bob Grost Cerious Technologies |
So we were all ready to pull the trigger on our biggest Black Friday sale EVER! My son - my apprentice - went on a well earned trip to China for 10 days. While he was gone someone who knew he was going and for how long totally cleaned out his house and stole EVERYTHING! They stole his furniture, his appliances and all his electronics. Just his clothes in a pile in the middle of his bedroom. Then they stole his car. Needless to say we are playing catch up. SO...Cyber Monday sale it is! Details coming and ads will be up tomorrow. Happy Thanks giving! Bob CT |
Hello everyone...Happy Cyber Monday! We will be running ads on Audiogon to outline the sale, too. So here we go. What is the DEAL? It is our first 30/40/50 event. Purchase one Graphene Matrix product and get 30% off. Purchase a second GM product and get 40% off. Purchase a third, fourth or fifth product and get 50% off! If you purchase soon, you will have until the end of the year to add on for the 40/50% off giving some time if you need to sell some other gear to take advantage. Remember...as your spouse would say "The more you spend, the more you save!". Now it is your turn. At these prices we cannot accept GE trade ins and if you purchase multiple items the most expensive will be the 30% off. Our website will not accommodate the progressive discount so just contact us and I will forward an invoice. Those of you who have purchased from me in the past know I am easy to work with and I always find a way to get you a great deal so just talk to me (and my son needs the extra work hours, too...). Even though I will get asked this question yet again...Yes we still have a 30 day full money back policy if not delighted. Thank you so much for the continued support and I hope this brightens your Holidays. Bob CT |
Hi Everyone! Bob from Cerious... The last six months have been great for us, setting a sales record for a six month span. Since launching our Cyber sale we have sold more in this one month than in the previous six! Added on top of this is a shipping network that is collapsing under the weight of on line shopping (Amazon..). It has taken 15 days for customers to get their shipments. Since many have wanted to try the Graphene Matrix and then were planning on adding on to it and taking advantage of the additional discounts this lost timing has "cost" them this opportunity. Anyone who has dealt with me knows I do everything I can to take care of my customers so I want everyone to know that everyone who orders even a single cable will be Grandfathered in to the further discounts of the Cyber sale. So...if you try a GM cable you get 30% off and are locked in for the next three months (!) of the additional -40%/50%. Please be patient as we are literally having trouble keeping up running invoices. So keep the faith we will take care of you and have a Happy New Year and just let us know what you are interested in and we will do everything we can to get you taken care of... Bob CT |
Hi everyone! First of all I apologize for the lack of communication this year. It has been difficult to maintain any sort of optimism with the never ending assault of fear and lock downs. Sales have continued to be strong and I took the time to design and build our personal dream speakers so the wife is happy! Living without the ability to listen to live music has been the worst mentally. It, however, is time to change the attitude and get back to living in a world with some Joy. It is time for the Cerious Technologies annual Cyber sale! Yes the 30%/40%/50% off sale is back. How does it work you ask? Well...the first piece of Matrix you buy is -30% off, the second is -40% off and the third is -50% off. Each additional purchase is ALSO -50% off through the end of the year. Now keep in mind that the most expensive is first -30%, and so on...Ads will be up soon with initial -30% costs and you can contact me for other prices and I will return an invoice as a .pdf. We also will pay for domestic shipping. Overseas customers please contact me for exact pricing on shipping. Well, there you go! Something positive going on in 2020. You could even say that this is my 2020 vision! Please have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving. Family is everything so treasure your time together. There is no truth to the rumor that Seal Team 6 will be out looking for any Thanksgiving celebrations over 10 people. Hugs!!!! Bob CT |
The happiest of Thanksgivings to all... Bob CT |
Hi Everybody...Bob from Cerious. I wanted to update you all and personally thank everyone for the support over the years. On May 2nd my wife left for work and shortly after I collapsed with tremendous chest pains. I called 911 and was transported to the hospital. All very surprising in that I am in really good shape and continue to teach spin as an instructor and work out every day. My heart was not the problem...I had 75% blockage of the main arteries of the heart and my heart had been compensating for years. I hiked Thunderbird mountain the day before in 95 degree heat with no problems. I was prepped and rushed into a Quadruple bypass surgery.
My level of health has lead to record recoveries and after six weeks I was cleared to drive and begin full workouts at my club. NO WORK, though.
I am finally cleared to start work again and having your own business it is a mess being away so I wish to apologize for any and all problems I may have caused. What is most frustrating is we were readying to release a large number of new products, including what I believe to be the most radical loudspeaker ever produced. It employs the first "prefect crossover" ever devised and here is the kicker - they operate OUTSIDETHE SIGNAL PATH! The only thing you listen to is a piece of Graphene cable. We are working on a video series, too to actually teach acoustic theory and how loudspeakers (actually) work and Yes we do prove how the crossovers work outside the signal path.
More news to come with regard to new products. It looks like I am going to live a long time cannot wait to get going. It is amazing what something like this does to your view of life. Bless you all and please let the daily crap flow off of you in to the oblivion. Life is a blessing. Live each day to its fullest!
Peace...
Bob
