a company makes a remote and it’s basic function is to work the equipment it came with .     now if it has codes for other equipment that it “ might “ be compatible with and also control that equipment , then it’s a bonus.     

it’s not fair to blame customer service if they don’t know something, they are there to offer help on their products the best they can .

you obviously didn’t figure it out either if you had to call for help. :)
