NAD and Classe similarities

I just recently purchased a Classe CA-200 amplifier, and a guy who has sold audio gear in the past was checking it out and said it looks remarkably similar to an NAD model (the 218thx i believe) in build externally and also with the design of the internals (toroidal transformer, caps, and everything). I was wondering if anyone might know if these are related, as in an engineer who worked at one company then moved to the other, etc. Just curious.
