Music bleeding at zero volume

Trying to understand why music continues to play when I have the DAC/pre turned all the way down...

When it’s dead quite in the house - I don’t even need to turn up the volume from zero. It plays loud enough to hear comfortably. Using XLR interconnects.

Actually Three-Easy, I don't think that Miller is any more correct here  than he usually is.

Turning the volume "down" does not preclude zero. I would never design or build a component which did not have a zero. Especially volume. The OP's concern is valid. Miller's response, for all his scorn, is not.

IMO.
