Multiple smaller passive radiators or a single larger one or two?

In a larger subwoofer on the 4.1 house system.
Those are the two applications, what does everyone think? Four 4" radiators with a 10" sub or so, or one 10" radiator with the same sub, or maybe an 8" sub and two 10" radiators. All approx here I know, just in theory and experience that you've had in those two applications with some radical stuff you've tried just winging it, if you ever have. Or maybe, no radiators and porting. I have all these parts accumulated, all refugees from different systems, and I want to make a Frankenstein Friend ;) Po Boy gumbo if you will. Let me know what y'all think and why, other than I'm an idiot ... I already know that :)
