Moving Roon to new core

I am in the process of moving my Roon Core and collection of ripped CDs from a MacBook Air (M2) to a Roon Nucleus One with a 4 TB internal SSD.  Running out of hard drive on the Mac (can't upgrade HD as it is soldered-in).  I plan to de-authorize the MacBook Air and then authorize the Nucleus One.  Will be same Roon Account.

Will my current playlists and Tags transfer to the new Roon Core/Nucleus One?  Anything special I need to do?  The Nucleus One is connected by USB cable to a Moon 390, Moon 330A and Magnapan 1.7i speakers.  Thanks for the help.

Yes it will all transfer.  Good idea to back up Roon Core before you do it.

I lost everything once, and it was extensive playlists that were the most painful loss.  You can download a pdf of those also before transfer.

Thanks.  I did a forced back up and copied that to an external hard drive.  Next, as I understand it would be to de-authorize the current core (macbook air), authorize the nucleus and copy the back up onto the nucleus (new core). Have I got it right?  Being extra careful.

I just migrated from Mac Mini to Nucleus One. I lost one playlist. Nothing significant so I didn’t try yo figure out how to fix it. It’s probably sitting in a backup somewhere

You are correct except one thing.  Once you have restored the backed up database, you will have to copy the ripped files from the MAC to the Nucleus One.  Once the ripped files are copied over, you will have to go into the new Roon Core and change the storage location in Settings => Storage to the new ripped files location.  And don't forget to remove the old location from the storage settings.

The process is well documented on the Roon FAQs.
