ModWright SWL 9.0 Anniversary Edition Phono Stage

Hi All,
Enjoying my SWL 9.0 AE preamp now that I have good tubes for it.
A friend just gave me a pile of vinyl and that inspires me to dust off an old turntable (or maybe get a new one).Does anyone have this preamp with the optional phono stage?
I'm wondering if that's a good phono solution or if there is a better way to go. I was thinking it's relatively inexpensive at $350 and could sink some money into a new cartridge. 

Thoughts? Particularly from those who are using the phono option with this preamp?  TIA!

Thanks mofimadness.  The suggestion is if I want to spend more I might put it into an Ortophon blue...
Anyone else care to weigh in? Ooh, that's almost a pun when you're talking about turntables.

I had this pre for quite a few years with the phono stage.  IMHO, you'd be hard pressed to find a better sounding phono stage for $350.
