70db will be a good match with a LOMC cartridge! James Bongiorno did that with his GAS Thaedra preamp (1976) to eliminate an extra gain stage for use with the increasingly popular MC cartridges. At the time the Thaedra was the only preamp with this ability!

Hi,
Leave it to me to start to become enamored with a product that is off the beaten path. There are some very positive reviews, but I would like first hand experience. Some of the considerations I would have. Is it quiet?
It has a fixed gain of 70db, relative to cart, do you find that a little 'hot'? Comparison to what you previously owned or phono pre's you know well. Does it strike you as an end game piece and have you hung on to it? Thanks in advance.
