Greetings from Broward County. Thankfully we have the internet to indulge our hobby, as there seem to be fewer places to listen to various high-end components in this area, although I can't say I'm very familiar with south Florida audio stores.
I might be a strange one, but I did my research and then purchased my system sight unseen, and unheard. Fortunately, I am thrilled with the results. My neighbors in my condo building, perhaps not so much.
Miguel, I'd be happy to meet for a coffee or perhaps a beer. Perhaps to check out a shop as well. I've never been to the audio salon in coral gables, you?
Hi everybody. It looks like we are almost alone in South Florida. Best jazz and classical concerts always happens in NY, CA and other places but not South Florida. The same happens with high end audio. Not too many in our area.
I was reading some old posts in this section and I see that there are people looking for Audio Clubs or even informal groups with interest in our hobby. Maybe we don't need to organize a club but could get together for a coffee and talk about our hobby, get to know each other first before inviting somoene to our houses for auditions. This could be weekend at some bookstore with a coffee shop and get started. I used to attend meetings with a group (not audio) weekly at Barnes & Noble and it was a great place to start. They have audio magazines, records and coffee. If someone agree we could do this or even open a group at Meetup.com. I live in Fort Lauderdale.
Regards to all.
Miguel.
Deja Vu Audio South in the Miami Design District is the go-to place for high-end audio in Miami. They carry - Audio Note, Synthesis, Harbeth, Conrad Johnson, Grado, Koetsu, Grado and much more. They also specialize in vintage audio and have some very cool Western Electric systems set up and ready to perform. They have four separate audition rooms and the shop is very relaxed and unrushed.

A visit to Deja Vu Audio South is truly memorable.

If you're traveling to Miami or even have a layover check them out for sure (they are only ten minutes from the airport) - www.dejavuaudiosouth.com

There's a record shop kinda hard to find that usually throws substantial deals in Western Hollywood off Flamingo Road/Pembroke. They throw craigslist adds when they get new arrivals.
I’m visiting my mom in boynton beach and am always up for hearing great systems.  I'd love to hear some Magico's or other top performers.

It would be fun if people could organize an Audiogon tour or open Houses by region.

The owner of Sceana used to live nearby in Florida and I heard his system that was fabulous.

I wish I could reciprocate but my TAD CR1’S based system with subs, super tweeters and BHK 300 Amps is back in NYC.
Asmodai,

Sound components is nice, but leans pretty high end.  The Audio Salon in Coral Gables is worth checking out. Sound Advice has more approachable items, nice shop as well.  Believe it or not, Best Buy Dadeland Station has a pretty nice magnolia dept with some nice items from B&W, Sonus Faber, Martin Logan, Mcintosh, and some nice headphones.  The Hollywood Sound has some lesser known audiophile brands and a great array of turntables, and finally there is a guy with a store in East Hollywood with a large selection of 2nd hand audiophile gear with some new stuff mixed in as well.

(Miami, Miami Beach audio stores?
Going to Miami Beach this weekend and I'll be killing some time on Saturday. Any audio shops to visit? Used LPs?
Thanks)

I'm new to this hobby and have been looking for a couple of months now and I can't find any stores that sell any decent variety of components, at least that are affordable to mere mortals. I can't even find a good place to compare quality/high-end cans. I know they have to be here somewhere, but 95% is A/V rentals and running seminars and such.... very frustrating.
Sound Components in Coral Gables is excellent. Owned by Mark Goldman, excellent knowledge, nice guy, good staff.  They sell Rockport, which is a treat. (I'm selling my Rockport Monitors on this site now by the way)

Not a ton in great used LP shops. I've been here since 2009 and have yet to be impressed.  I buy my vinyl online.

I am in Hollywood. Would love a get-together. Do not know of any clubs in the area.
Hmm, seems like we Floridians answer this post annually!  I'm in Palmetto Bay...
Currently live in Lantana.. Looking for some audiophiles I've been involved in the hobby since  the seventies
I know these posts are old but I'm interested in meeting audio hobbyists in the area to share info. I'm in Lighthouse Point (Pompano Beach area 33064) and would like to have contact from interested parties in the area, preferably from Hollywood to the Palm Beaches. I've been involved in the hobby since the late fifties and use mostly solid state and electrostatic speakers, etc, etc.
Currently live in West Palm Beach.. Looking for some audiophiles then meetup every once and a while.
I live in Fort Lauderdale. I wouldn't be bold enough to call myself and audiophile, but I am definately a serious audio enthusiast. I have B & W 805 sepakers, M & K subwoofers, Carver's Sunfire Theater Grand Preamplifier Processor, Sunfire Theater Grand Amplifiers, Niles 1260 amplifier, Sony 999ES DVD player and a moster power conditioner. All of this in a small condominium. My neighbors love me!!!! I would be interested in hearing the sound system of other enthusiasts/audiophiles. I would like to hear what a really good system sounds like. I would also be interested in other people listening to my system and giving me advice on how to improve the sound quality. If you are interested, please email me at ebonyace at hotmail dot com. Make sure your e-mail title says "Audiophile Club" or I will accidentally throw it away thinking it is junk mail.
I do not consider an audiophile yet but I own Cayin A-88t, straightwire Maestro, Focal Bookshlef, Marantz Cd player. I also live in cutler bay...
I am in Cutler Bay: Manley, Audible Illusions, White Audio Labs, Thiel, highly modified EAD DAC, SOTA Star Sapphire, PS Audio DAC & Power Plant, Sony ES SACD, Synergistic Research cables, Harmonic Tech cables, Zu Mission cables, more.
well, not in miami, but in Fort lauderdale...looking for other audiophiles and enthusiasts! :D
