Meridian vs Ayre

Any opinions on 588 and G08 and Ayre C5Xe? I have a Unidisk SC and have been pondering if balanced is a better option.

I'm not so sure that balanced operation should be a question. Some components sound better balanced (all Ayre equipment)..some sound better single ended. As far as the C5xe is concerned, I think its the best silver disc player. I also have a VPI Superscoutmaster with Benz Ebony cartridge..sometimes the VPI wins, sometimes the Ayre wins.
