McIntosh MC7106 v Luxman L100

I have a Luxman L100 and have a chance to buy an Mc Intosh MC7106 which I would be using in a 2 channel system . Its priced at $1100, thoughts which would be the better amp. I think my 1974 Luxman is probably worth a little more if I decide to sell it ?

As a McIntosh fan and a current owner of a their C2300 pre amp , I'd suggest keeping the Luxman or looking elsewhere.

I had the MC7106 in my system a few months and couldn't wait to get rid of it. It did LOUD okay when running bridged (300 watts if I recall correctly), it just didn't sound all that great for stereo use.

It would probably serve fine as a home theater amp where SPL is more important than nuance or sound quality. There are better options out there for the same or less money. My McCormick DNA 0.5 and Conrad Johnson MF2250 both provided better sound in my system at a lower cost.

What speakers are you pairing it with?
