Have you tried them yet?  If so, impressions?

Paid for the speakers today. Getting shipped out beginning of next week. Another chapter in the audio system and the realization of a dream of owning electrostatic that first began when I was in my early twenties.

The DSP with your preamp should help with the integration of the subs and the mains, like the CLX filters which compensate for the natural roll off of the mains.

I have a pair of Velodyne HGS12 I have planned on using with them. Sealed box servo feedback design. 

ML rates the ART's at 110 pounds.  But, I guess that's much lighter than those Tekton sub towers the seller was using...!  Hopefully your Velodyne subs will play nice with the new speakers...!

I have a pair of CLX with  a pair of Descent i subs with the CLX filters installed.  No complaints about dynamics from me, but my days of listening at near concert levels are long past, speed and detail are impressive.  Make sure your room is large enough, mine are placed at least 6 feet from the rear wall and 5 feet from the side walls.

Well shipping from Tennesse to Washington isn't as bad as I thought it would be. So this looks like a done deal, i am committed in principle. Just have to finish payment and they will get packed this weekend and loaded up at the beginning of next week. 

While my EM-ESL's are far from the CLX ART's you're interested in, my speakers and the ART's use a similar 8.6" wide panel.  The ART's are much taller, for more of a line-array speaker.  So, while my speakers are babies in comparison, they still portray a nice sense of dynamics, speed, and detail.  Much better dynamics than many other planar magnetic speakers I've heard, and owned.  In fact, one TOTL planar speaker I auditioned, with top ARC tubed gear, literally put me to sleep, they were so polite.  Great imaging, but no slam.  My little EM-ESL's at least offer a bit of slam (within their capabilities).  A M&K sub helps too...!

Well yesterday I helped a fellow load the JBL 4365 in his SUV and he left a pile of money with me. So it is time to look for speakers. 

Was hoping to get an idea of how the CLX handle large scale music, electric blues, and that sort of thing. I think every review I have come across states they are detailed, transparent, very natural in the bass within their scope of 50 Hz or so, but no one talks about their ability to convey energy...which can be a limiting factor in smaller panel speakers. But these are big panels. So I was hoping to hear from listeners or owners of the CLX ART. 

I have an old pair of CLS and I always wanted a pair of CLS Art.  I've never heard one.  But I would expect that a subwoofer would be a good addition, but I don't know for sure.

The mids and highs are excellent.  In fact, it is these speakers that I compare others to as my standard.

@johnk  Oh I could use a secondary set of speakers like some Energy to play that kind of music whenever the mood takes me. 90%+ of my listening is not that kind of music anymore. 

neonknight is that a black sabbath reference? anyway if you like rock or other dynamic music you may want to look elsewhere the stats will have a lot of detail they will have great transient response but they will only play as loud as the panel can move.
