Magnepan 1.6QR or 2.6R or Sound Lab Dynastats

I currently have an older pair of Dynastats that sound wonderful in my main system, but not quite as coherant as my Magnepan 12QR's that are in my second system. Thinking about going to the 1.6QR or 2.6R. Either of these can be purchased on A-gon, for about the same price. We no longer have a Maggie Dealer in this area. My question is for those who have heard both, which might be better? And, ultimately, will I make an improvement over my Dynastats. They are the older version with the smaller Dynaudio woofers, but bass is not an issue because I have good subs. Upline are CJ Premier 11 and Carey SLP90 pre; JVC CD transport and PS Audio Ultralink DAC with Wasatch ($250/M) Interconnects and Transparent "Super" Speaker cables.
