I am almost finished implementing the SR Active Ground Block in my system using a mix of the supplied SR wires and some DIY ground wires. This built upon a DIY star grounding project I began some time ago. While I found audible benefits from basic star grounding, adding the SR Active Ground Block made a huge improvement in the sound of my system. The SR ground wires--especially the High Definition cables--are really expensive for what you get. Don't be afraid to try your hand at making your own. |
@lwin These work well: https://m.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-2-Colors-High-quality-2mm-Gold-Mini-Banana-Plug-Male-Audio-Adapter-US/1... Dave |
For my DIY ground wires, I used a couple of approaches. Most of my DIY ground wires were fashioned from ersatz (?) Chinese Nordost green filament-wrapped clear insulated 16 gauge solid core silver plated copper wire sourced online from Aliexpress. For the Ground Block end I simply doubled the wire back tightly on itself which then fits firmly into the Block and looks cool in a bachelor pad sort of way. I added heat shrink tubing to each end help dress and support the ends. For others I used 2mm bananas like those cited by Dave above. Andy |
