Looking for really fine cables at really low price

I have been listening to excellent sounding Exemplar exception cables for the last several weeks. While my HFCables are better they are also much more expensive than the below $500 cables.

They offer an excellent sound stage, dynamics, and top to bottom quality sound. Not only are they inexpensive but they are very portable and easy to install.

I am not a dealer or investor in this company.

I used the WE 16ga with 2 different bananas and bare - at the amp end only. Each banana imparted a signature. The less expensive banana, presumably low copper-content, was the least desirable. The more expensive one with "high copper content" was noticeably different and better.

I preferred the bare wire. It was cleaner sounding with a little more presence.

However, I could see how one might prefer the signature of the better banana.
Grannyring - I bi-wire with the WE 16ga and have experienced a similar change in the sound - perhaps not to the degree you have. I did a loose twist every few inches or so.

Did you twist to achieve the doubling of the wires, and then twist both of the doubled bundles?
Grannyring - Thank you for the information.

Sometimes adding the additional wire can improve certain aspects and adversely affect others. Since I have some extra wire I could easily try it.
Steakster - My experience with the speaker cables (I have not doubled them yet) and IC results in a "Yes" to both of your questions. Though these changes are noticeable, they are not significant and, IMO, did not alter the character of the 2 types of wires.

IMO, a more noticeable change for the 16 GA came when I went from copper/gold bananas (amp end only) to no connectors.

Re: the IC's, I am going to make a set with the shield connected at the source end only for a comparison.

Which RCA's did you use? An obvious candidate might be the Switchcraft Gold.

Did you use a simple loose twist?

Thanks for trying this out - and apparently succeeding.
Mikirob - Volleyguy1 should be able to post his reaction via his preferences, his ears in his system; without being subtly, or not so subtly attacked.

Rhetorical question - Why would you care what he thought?
In reading the Positive Feedback article cited above, it appears that the banana plugs in the pictures are Acoustic Revive RBN-1, which are rhodium plated.

Though it looks like the bananas were used on one end only, the 4 bananas cost a good bit more than the wire.

I found that using a connector, even on one end, affected the sound. I used them with no connectors.

It would have been useful if Jeff Day had tried a shielded version of the WE 16 ga.

Salectric - Looking forward to your findings re: the V-Twist/Switchcraft 3502AAU RCA's and the 8402/WBT 0102 Ag RCA's.
Salectric - You can't say that I'm not persistent. I am looking forward to your findings on the V-Twist/Switchcraft 3502AAU RCA's and the 8402/WBT 0102 Ag RCA's (or whatever combination you care to post on).
"Jet, hate to say it but two runs per leg sound much better based on my experience. More body, weight and fullness. Need to double up! Sorry."

Grannyring - Sorry to hear you say this (kidding). I have enough wire to do it, but I bi-wire. Eventually I will get to it.
