Looking for new 10-20k€ speakers (front, central, sub)

While I understand your criticism of the MA Silver, they were still a great bargain and low level listening speaker. The platinum line however is amazing. You should not immediately try to jump brands.

I like Magico but they do a great job of throwing a wide sound stage, which also means they don't like near side walls.  Same for Revel.

For home teather , you want a speaker that is lively.

Monitor Audio is that kind of speaker.

May be , try the Platinum line .

@borislejan , can you post pics of your room? Do you have your current speakers set up to Dolby specs at the recommended angles and have you treated your room with bass traps and acoustic treatments? 

 @maxwave  @erik_squires  : thank you for your messages and you are right I do not have to change brand. However, the platinum, I think, are quite large (width) and will have difficulty fitting in the space available.

@kota1 thanks as well, I do not know about the Dolby specs, I tied them a little bit toward the listening position. I have not treated the room yet, but intend to.

@borislejan , I think you will benefit from setting up your system via dolby specs and then treating your room before doing anything else. Your entire system will improve and it will allow room perfect to really do its job. There are cettain things dsp just can’t treat. Once you have everything dialed in you may or may not want to change speakers. To get new speakers without doing this first is wasteful IMO. Go the the Virtual System area to upload your pics in your profile. I’ll post the dolby specs in a follow up. You will need to get the angles recommended setup. This may require adjusting your MLP depending on the size of your room. You can upload your pics and system using the link below:

These are the angles you need to get as a first step before doing anything else, you may need to bring your MLP forward toward the center of the room depending on your room size. Get the bed layers adjusted first. The height channels may be different epending on the typs of speaker you are using (downfiring, upfiring, or front and rear height channels) I

I have a 20 channels Home Theater system.( Acurus ACT4)

The RoomPerfect calibration can only provide about 20% .

80% come from your room’ s treatment.

Room treatment is like a preamplifer.

I would work on that first .

I have 4 Monitor Audio Silver 300 speakers for Wide and Surround . Rear are Focal Chorus 836vw ( were once fronts)

@kota1 many thanks, I agree that trying to optimise my current set-up is the sensible thing to do, even though I still believe that I have a real difference in quality between the electronics and the speakers. I will look at the guidelines ;). I put a photograph of my system in my profile.

@borislejan , I saw the pic and you have primarily hard reflective surfaces. The good news is that room treatments will transform your system. The easiest way to move forward is to order a room "kit" and with Black Friday Auralex has a good sale.. Look at my virtual system to see an example of how I set mine up.

If you want a "recipe" for acoustic treatment and some guidelines let me know and I will post. I have a thread here on setting up your room for atmos with some good videos too.

Start by setting up your speakers for the specs in that diagram to begin with making sure to get the angles dialed in.
