I'd like to keep this short, but not sure I can. I currently have two audio systems sitting side by side -- one for music, one HT -- that share a subwoofer. It's a Monoprice Monolith V10 THX. For the price, it really punches above its weight and I'm really happy with it, with just one exception.
My music system -- Eversolo DMP A8 into Parasound A51 into Usher Dancer Mini 2 Diamonds. I absolutely love this system, so naturally I'm upgrading it. LOL. A Parasound JC5 is coming next week to replace the A51, and a DMP A10 will shortly follow to replace the A8. It sounds fantastic to me, and according to the room correction software in the Eversolo, the speakes and sub have a flat sound curve from 20 to 20k hz.
My HT system -- fiber optic cable box into Marantz AV7706 into Parasound A51 (second one) into Klipsch RC-64 center and four Bose 901 V using Deer Creek equalizers front and rear (no haters please - these are great for surround sound). As part of this system, the sub has no problem pissing off my wife with it's room shaking ability when turned up.
So, why do I want a new sub?
There is only one problem with my current setup. I'm running an XLR cable from the Marantz to the sub, and RCA cable from the Eversolo to the sub. But it won't switch automatically. When I go from music to HT or vice versa, I have to turn off the sub, unplug it from the wall, then plug it back in and turn it back on. Then I turn on whichever system I want to listen to, and the sub detects the input and is paired with the correct system. Kind of a first world problem I know, but it would be nice to not have to go through those gyrations every time, which can be more than once or twice a day.
Perhaps the easiest solution would be to just buy a second Monoprice sub. At only $600, it's a bargain. But I'm not sure where I would put the second one (stacked on top the first maybe?). Also, my current one is piano black, which is no longer available. If I had two, it would be nice if they matched. So I'm looking for recommendations for a single replacement. The soon to arrive Eversolo A10 has XLR sub connections, so my ideal sub would have two separate XLR inputs, but I'll take XLR and RCA.
I've received really great advice from this group in the past, so I'm looking for help with what is most likely going to be my last upgrade/purchase for a long time. I'm not limited to a $600 sub, but my budget isn't unlimited. Maybe something in the $2000 range? Thanks!
