Logitech Transporter - Upgrade to MF NuVista?

I have a Musical Fidelity NuVista and I am interested in beginning to establish a remote computer-based server for my CD collection and possibly upgrade my MF with an external DAC.

I am trying to understand the best approach. What is the opinion of the Transporter in this application or a duet with a Benchmark DAC, or other contender?
