Linn Bedrok LP12 Plinth Upgrade

Is there any truth to the rumour that a family in Scotland Klimaxed when they heard the upcoming price of the Bedrok. Or was that a Ekos in his pocket?

An equivalent plinth made of the same material could be put together by anyone for a small fraction of the price that Linn is charging. I predict that this will spawn numerous third party efforts which will be just as good as the Flintstones plinth.
