Legacy Audio Powerbloc 5

Came across a Legacy Audio Powerbloc 5 amplifier that is for sale. Can't find much information about it, or reviews (the 'bloc2', a fancy class D amp, is written about quite a bit using ICE technology).

Any links to reviews or comparisons?

Tests, technical information, etc?

Opinions? First Hand impressions?

Seems the PowerBloc 5 is a fairly dated unit. Two sites I came across showed it in manufacture from 2000-2001. Some specs and manual are published here:

Back then Legacy was focused on Class AB and given the weight of the unit, it looks like this follows suit. Also, this was likely around the time that Legacy started branding their own amps, though they had been working very closely with Coda Technologies for years and continued to commission them to produce the Legacy amps. So this is likely a Coda-manufactured amp, but I could be wrong about that.

I used to be a Legacy Aeris owner, so the PowerBloc series was on my radar.

If I remember correctly, their two channel and mono amps of that period were made by Coda and the Powerbloc 5 was made by Enlightened Audio Designs. The Luminance amp was made by Proton. I owned a Powerbloc 5 at one point and thought it to be a good amp. I liked the Aragon 8008 x 5 better. The manual for it is available on the Legacy site.

Yes, I saw the basic specs, thank you.

So on paper seem to be a decent amp.

But very obscure given the little info that is out there. No test, no review. No for sale listings. Can always call it 'rare, hard to find' when reselling it if it is junk and/or sounds horrible.

And REVIEW or TEST available?

Debating if I should fetch one for $500 from local store. Vs for example an Adcom GFA-555 I could fetch for $250.
