It's a short distance that's the key in using UPS. UPS to N.Y. would be about a buck a pound

UPS was $16 and media mail was $13? that's surprising because i've been sending 60 pound boxes of LPs for about $14 and i thought ups would be 2-3x that. Hm.

Hi Kub, Nice to see you back in the forums, even if it's only for a brief moment. Isen't it nice to know that when you get to N.Y. all you have to do is hook up your computer and all your imaginary friends will magically come and visit you :^)

I actually worked it out with the seller. UPS was about $16.00, Media was like $13.00 so I sent him $20.00 and called it good requesting that he ship UPS. That way I get the free insurance and the free tracking #

But wait a minute, Isen't Santa Cruz sort of on the way to N.Y. from L.A.? What do you think Kub? I'll throw in Sandlot too if your interested :^)

Are you serious....HAHAHAHAHAHA...you want someone ot go "pick up"...and then go stand in line at a UPS outlet to mail it to you in Santa Cruz?...not to mention battling the L.A. traffic ( I know...I spend 6 months a year in Hancock Park ) and for this service you are offering a copy of 'Princess Bride' or "maybe one or two of the other ones"...lets see...LD's are worth about 5 bucks a piece...if that and you want 2-3 hours worth of work...in LOS ANGELES no less...for a couple crummy LD's...dude...step up to the plate...if you can afford to live in L.A. (and Santa Cruz) you can afford $45 to ship your discs.

You can ship these media mail. I shipped about 40lbs of CDs for $12 last week. It takes around a week and a half to arrive to the destination but media mail ROCKS. In fact, i sent ALL my 5000 cds and my 400 Lps media mail after i got a HUGE quote from a mover (I'm moving from L.A. to nyc) who said all the weight was in my books, cds and LPs (which is really all i own.) i saved about $2,000 bucks.

Google United States Post Office and you'll find a calculator link. it will explain exactly what you can send media mail and what you can't.

so how much do you owe me :-)
