KEF ref 1 vs. ref 1 meta

@audiotroy - Potato potatoe. Revealing of an amplifier’s current delivery is not the same as revealing of an amps musicality.

But, since a gauntlet of sorts has been thrown, I offer a link to measurements.

Regardless of how you word these speakers, "hard to drive" or "revealing" an owner will have to consider whether they want a pair of speakers that is often below 2 Ohms or not.

Personally I would hate to think any manufacturer would make a low impedance speaker just to prove they can "reveal" differences in amps. That would be crazy talk, right?

yes  the metas are significantly better cleaner in the midrange, more apparent detail without any additional brightness

I’m not sure about the Ref 1, but the Meta is an incredibly, measurably hard to driver speaker. I think it has equivalent dissipation factor of around 1 ohm near the bass, possibly (this is conjecture) by an overly aggressive impedance correction filter. You can google various discussions about this.

Never listened, but keep that in mind when considering your options as it will affect your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
