Jill Sobule has passed away in house fire

10 days ago she was at the Kent Stage with the Fixx.

Enjoy life while you can. 

She was supposed to be in Denver this evening.

What an absolute tragedy!

"Sobule was scheduled to perform in Denver on Friday night. Instead, there will be an informal gathering hosted by her friend Ron Bostwick from 105.5 The Colorado Sound at the performance space where attendees can “share a story or song,” according to her publicist."

That's awful - so sorry to hear that. I was on a train trip through the Southwest with her in 2009; she was one of the performers and passengers along with Stan Ridgway and the Handsome Family. She was very sweet. RIP Jill. 

OMG, what a tragedy. I saw Jill live last in the mid-2000's, at a show at Club Largo in Los Angeles. My long-time girl friend (25 years!) was the personal assistant of the lawyer who represented her, and when Jill saw us at a table she tried to get us to join the line that followed her as she "snaked" her way through the room. No way!  Jill was joined in her set by one of the then-hot indi producers at the time----whose name I just can't remember---on piano.

I have to email that girlfriend (we're still close) and let her know.
