Jazz Noir suggestions

I would like suggestions similar to therobert . His liking of the Chet Baker "Chet" suggestions would put his and my request in the noir arena IMO. I don't have anything that approaches "Chet" for this except maybe" Elevator to the Gallows" , the movie soundtrack by Miles. Great noir music but a choppy poorly integrated recording. Lots of excellent responses to therobert but I'd like this to focus specifically on  the  dark noir stuff.  Not so easy to compete with these two Miles and Chet recordings.   I would guess that most of this sort of thing is scattered around in soundtracts. The Bob Snieder/Joe Locke Film Noir Project - Fallen Angel - Should be right up yr alley!
+1 on the Ran Blake and Enrico Rava, acman3. Pretty awesome stuff, especially the intro before the recognizable melody  kicked in.  Somewhat oddly I've never heard of either. Looks like they have a noir cd.  I'll be checking their stuff out.  These are two heavy dudes! This is the second "new" excellent Italian trumpeter I've recently come across. This music thing just goes on forever. Thanks
