@bolong That sounds like a great system you've got going there!!!

Do you think you have noticed a big difference in sound between the CDT2 mk2 and the CDT3mk3?

I'm trying to decided between the CDT2mk3 and the CDT3 mk3 and am wondering if there would be much of a difference in sound between those two transports and whether or not it would be truly worth paying twice the price for the CDT3mk3?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and Best wishes to you,

Don

I can say that the previous CDT2  MK2 sounded quite good. I have not listened to a lot of CD transports, so take me with a grain of salt.

Geez, I just realized that my original CDT2 Mk2 had the upgraded soundboard in it which was being called "Mk3." This is a replacement I did myself as soon as I heard of the new sound board which was easy to install. That was an improvement. This was 3 years ago, so can't quite remember how good the upgrade was, but it seemed worth it at the time.

@bolong

Thank you for your post!  Just so that I am understanding you correctly...

You felt that bringing the CDT2 Mk2 up to the CDT2 MK3 status was an improvement and the newer CDT3 Mk3 seemed like a worthwhile upgrade over the CDT2 Mk3?

Am I understanding you correctly?

I ask because the current CDT2 Mk3 is selling for $2500 and the newer CDT3 Mk3 is selling for double that price at $5000.

I'm trying to figure out if the CDT3 is worth the additional uptick in price over that of the CDT2.

Thanks much,

Don
