It seems kind of ironic.

Almost every Audiogon email discussion I engage in regarding equipment gets a red banner attached to it warning me that the moderators are reviewing it for some rule they think I broke, or with content "filtered" out.  But the Audiogon email moderation doesn't have a problem with an Audiogon member sending me "love letters" that, I guess, uses language that they find offensive enough that, if I quote it, they will delete the post that I quoted it in.

It just seems a bit ironic to me.  That's all.

@immatthewj  Email me at support@audiogon.com to discuss.  Thanks.

It's really quite simple.

This is a business. This business generates income from the selling of equipment from its members to other members.

This business has rules in place that prohibit the circumnavigation of the standard way transactions are negotiated and completed. Like when individuals Direct Message one another with the intent of working out a private transaction. This is monitored by the business and steps are taken to block certain information that would make this possible and cut them out of the loop. This is separate from 'love letters' from other members. If you get a nasty DM, report it and the moderators will take the appropriate steps against the perpetrator. These two things are mutually exclusive.

Kind of OT...

Recently discovered a few "catch phrases" that will get you immediately connected to a real person at AT&T when going through their endless robotic interface.

Unfortunately I can't post them here, as I would most likely be banned for life (and rightfully so).
