Interconnect with great dynamics and bass slam ,

I recently purchased some Cardas Golden cross sepaker cables. They replaced my Dh Lab Q10s. I replaced the Q10s because i was getting some upper mid freq brightness.
I have Golden Cross interconnects from preamp to amp and from cd player to pre amp. The sound is very smooth and detailed .The bass and mid bass is not as authorative or as tight. The highs are better - more detailed and smooth.
The problem is the sound is almost too smooth the bass is kind of rounded off now .The sound is less dynamic.
My Question is.
Is there an interconnect that could give me back that great bass and dynamics of that i had with the Q10s, without the harshness i was getting. I think i would like to keep the Golden Cross speaker cables and try changing the ICs. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Try Clutch Keith, they are really hard driving rock and bluesy at the same time. Try some of these other guys I listed too. The ones that you aren't familiar with...try them out on your system dude and tell us what you think?
I like the white stripes!, kinda cool, a two piece band! You guys need to teach me about the ole blues man!, I really dig the B.B. king thing!,A perfect circle! are you kidding!, bring it on!,Tool, temple of the dog! wow! hell yeah!, keep it coming!
That just means you have discovered some good new music Keith! We were discussing blues. Those are just a few great artist from the blues genre. There are many more styles to choose from...;)

Kimbrough was apparently a large influence on the Black Keys...I'm a big fan of both. Also check out R.L. Burnside for some hard driven dirty blues....

Thank you Keith. I wish you the best of luck with everything you do. I hope that amp works out for you . I thank you for helping me find some really awesome cables that work wonderfully in my setup. i appreciate your enthusiasm in helping everyone here on the forum. I know some people may not understand where you are coming from , but i do. Thanks again for everything . Hope you like those Cds
@ Grey9hound, I wanted to take the time to tell you how much I really like you!, You are a special gentleman and friend!, All that you do does not go unnoticed by me!, cheers!
@ TbG, LOL!, I am a collector of cables that are the best available!, can you Imagine? owning on one system, the best of Taralabs, on the other system owning the best of High-fidelity?,, That would be the bomb and my goal!,, cheers!
@c Tbg, I believe you are on to something special with these High-fidelity cables!, Reading multiple reviews on them, the reviewers seemed dumbfounded by the performance levels of these cables!, very impressive indeed!, It is because of you!, I am wanting to give these cables a listen!, I know you will not be supprised if I buy some!,LOL!, I will not be supprised my self!,, thankyou TBG, cheers!
@ Tbg, Ok, My mistake!, The dealer that has a listing on audiogon was not very clear!, the pricing they have is for the High-fidelity speaker cables!, LOL!,, forgive me and my pricing question! cheers!
@ TBG,Please excuse my clerical errors when I talk here,,,Your last post caught my attension!,, TBG,, You are a self made Expert!,,Your vast years of knowledge is well known thru-out the Audiogon!, It took you years of trial and error to know what may work for you and what may not work for you!,based on this exsperience, you may or may not give your educated recommendations to others!, I say educated based on the facts of learning by trial and error!,, now that said,, since you do have more exsperience in certain aspects of the high-end audio field than the common audiophile and based on your age!, well, believe it are not, you are a self made Expert!,, you may not flaunt it, or say nothing at all period, but at the end of the day, you are a self made expert rather you like it are not!, now take this as a compliment!, it is meant as a compliment to you!,, ok, TbG, I am confussed here with the pricing of High-fidelity products!, the cable company has alot lower pricing than the high-end store that has a classified listing here on the audiogon for High-fidelity cables!, TBG, I am talking a huge difference in the cost of money!, the cable company has the ultimates at a little less than $5,000.00,, but this other dealer that has their listing here on the audiogon has the same cable for a whoping $7,500.00!,,, My question is, Did the High-fidelity cable company change their pricing!, whats going on here?,, the cable co is selling for alot less!,, cheers!
@ grey9hound,, I made a mistake!, The ultimates are the top of the line cable from High-fidelity!, A couple weeks ago the cable company said they were not available yet!, If TBG has a pair, I assume they are available now!,, cheers!
I can tell you both, grey9hound, waxwaves, you guys will be hard pressed to find a better sounding cable that yall have at the pricepoint the both of you paid!!!, A nice cable indeed!,, congrats to the both of you!,, my first taras was no where as good as what the both of you have!, so yes, a good glimpse of the better cables by anybody!,, Happy listening!
@ grey9hound, yes you did!,,LOL! all this and that going on, I did not realize that untill you said so!, I guess thats crazy!, my bad., Its a cool cd!,, cheers!
You're welcome Keith, I enjoy your lighted hearted and fun nature dude...Your passion for sound and the hobby as well.

I am very happy with my Air Series cables and the price I paid for them thanks very much. I won't be getting any Zero or Omega Gold in the next few years, unless they are willed to me or I hit the Powerball buddy! I like to think that I have a glimpse of what the big ones can do. Even tho I am extremely pleased with what Air 1 allowed my system, I can imagine what serious amazing sound one could achieve with the top line Tara Labs cable in the right system! I have to get a VRE-1 before I get Zero Golds!!!! Hehe

Keith, do yourself a favor and get one of those VHAudio or Signal Cable power cables until you can do the big Tara Labs PC thing. You will not regret it my friend!!!

I must have the disease too fellas! Can't think of a better affliction tho LOL! Oh well, he who dies with the most jawdroppingly awesome sounding stereo setup wins! You guys got the jump on me so far...hehe!
@ grey9hound, I was wondering who the artist was!on the blues virtuoso!,,, the High-fidelity cable TBG has is the ultimates,, the second from the top of the line cable they offer,, they have another cable that should be available eany day now,, that is the top of the line cable from High-fidelity,, these cables really are excellent cables!, they are real world priced and do out perform nearly all of the competition currently,, Tbg has an excellent choice of cables, you really cannot go wrong with high-fidelity cables!,, the price you found at the cable company site is for the new top of the line cable from High-fidelity, nobody has the cable yet that I am Aware of!, Its coming!,I called the cable company and tried to get the cable for rent!, that would be a more fair comparison to the zero gold I/c,, the lessor models the cable company said, don't bother with compairing them to my zero gold i/c, but I do suspect this new cable may out perform the zero gold!, we'll see, won't we!,, cheers!
@ Tbg, I have some gold plated xlr to rca connectors coming!, when the new best High-fidelity cable comes out, guess where it is coming to?, me!, I am going to rent the i/c from the cable co,, and direct compaire this cable to the Tara zero gold!,, The good news is that no cable could compete in performance to the zero gold for 14 years!, untill now!, I believe the High-fidelity cables are great!,, The bad news is Taralabs will once again out perform the competition with the new awaited flagship cable coming this november-janurary!, three or four new cables will be introduced!, In 1999 when the zero gold was introduced it took 14 years for the competition to compete!,, with the new top of the line cable that will be better than my zero gold,, once again, Taralabs will send ripples of rage for their product thru out the High-end industry!,, most likly another 10 to 14 years again before the competition can compete!,,, cheers!
@ Waxwaves, Thankyou Adam for coming to my defence here, I do not know Hessecs motive!, whatever, He said goodbye, I believe! you would be supprised that alot of people would make claims based on there experience with a lessor model I/C or speaker cables,, then believe the top two models of the line of a cable company they are reffering to will have the same outcome!, 9 times out of 10 the best two models of a cable company are indeed a different animal of cables all together!, A different league!,,I agree!, The Taralabs zero gold,, omega gold are some of the best available today!, cheers!
This from TGB
The High Fidelity Cables are quite unusual as the rest on a conductor that is not normally considered for wire. And they sound quite different from all other ics and speaker wires I have heard. With their CT-1 Ultimates I am getting a realism I had never heard before. Are they the best in the world? How would I know? If you don't take of an opportunity to hear them, you are missing something unique.
Well i acnnot even get the CT-1 Ultimates to pull up at all . On their website , when you click on them they say "coming soon "
There price of $4900 per 1 meter pair, is way out of my leauge. Oh , i just found them at The Cable Co .

The Blues virtoso was cool!
That would be Ronnie Earl and The Boradcasters- Blues Virtuoso.
Glad you liked it .
Hello Gentlemen...Is there a hater on our thread? He could be buddies with Irv, Lol!

Hessec must have one hesseck of a setup if he thinks the Tara Labs cables mentioned are just another drop in the bucket! Maybe he did not give those jewels enough time to burn in with his high end equipment?? 300 hours, come on now! Maybe he hooked them up backwards?!? OR, Maybe he needs to try the $2 hydrogen peroxide treatment? LOL!

This person is obviously bored with his system or he wouldn't be dogging' our buddy Audiolab on the forum, he'd be listen to some good tunes on his awesome stereo.
Pops, and you never will. There never is any consensus on anything. That is not uncommon in mankind and does make way for advertising, fancy packaging, etc. I post as much as possible only about my personal experiences. Once in a while there are technical questions.

Yes, it is still fun for me, but I do take offense at self-proclaimed experts. Science has no experts and no authorities.

This is after all....only a hobby...it is supposed to be fun for most of us...haven't heard any life altering decisions being made here!!!
Thanks for the info Davea33
I will keep my eyes open , and try some if i can come across them.
@ hessec, believe me, LOL!, I have run these poor fellas in the ground about the performance of the cables I have! quite frankly, they do not want to hear anymore of my raving, LOL!, thats why i do not discusse with them the performace values I hear, They are sick of it, LoL!, you are really late to the party!,,we all here talk on another thread called, the one versus the 0.8EX thread mostly!, there I will make you sick with performance of the cables I do have!, they are a different animal of cables you said you owned in the tara family!, regardless, they do share a little of the house sound together!,, cheers!
@ Davea33, thankyou for you response, thanks for your heads up for grey9hound, he is looking for such a sound!, Great dynamics and bass slam!, sounds good to me!
@ hessec, you may at bash all the equipment we all have at will, just not members would be grand of you!, like I said, now that insaneness is over, I am currious to talk with you!, tell us some of the equipment you really enjoy!, thats what audio is about, enjoyment, do you agree?,, Happy listening!
@ Hessec, Thankyou!,, However, you are most welcome here to dicusse Audio in a civil manner!, I love to learn!, And you may have knowledge to benefit us all here, you do not need to go, tell us some of your opinions here without being so negative to a member!, cheers!
@ pops, Thankyou very much for your response to Hessecs last post!, I am perplexed with his comments? yes, pops, It is indeed a turn-off!This is the same reasons my friend in LA, california will not post a conversation with nobody!, He has $50,000.00 a componet Lamm products!I am A hermit allready! I will not hesatate to say bye all together!, I enjoy all of you here!all of you are quite special to me!, you know who you are!
@ Hessec, Ok, lets be clear here, What do you have for a system!, Be honest! Do not fabricate a dream system you do not own!, why do you blast me?, I have done nothing to you!, I do not know you sir!, needless to say, I take alot of pride in building a system different than the common audiophile!,thats what puts my sound in a world class venue!, I have never had one listen to what I currently own and not be shocked!, experienced audiophile or not!, yes, I do not own the best!, to me, I love what I have!, so why does it matter to you what I own?, or say?, Bye!
Audiolabyrinth - yes, Dude is *only* tube based.
Grey9hound - it is not the cables CRL currently sells. It is the older CRL-FIM interconnect that are solid core copper. If CRL-FIM had different interconnect models, I couldn't comment on which I have. They are not made anymore; however try out a well made solid core copper interconnect and judge for yourself. As far as the other interconnects, I'd rather not comment at this time. As already mentioned all cables have there own presentation, not necessarily that one is better or worse than another, it is just what you are looking for. It was just by coincidence that I came upon your post at the same time I just got the CRL-FIM interconnect so I thought I'd give you a heads-up.
Hessec please do a better job of biting your tongue, this is the first negative post on a long and enjoyable thread. If you don't like a thread stay off, there are plenty more! It is so unnecessary to chime in with no value or reason except to blast Audiolabyrinth. That type of arrogance is what makes this hobby a turn off for many.
Ok so here is something I can add. I have owned Tara labs cables most recently the ,08 SC and Air RS-1 IC's - the level just below the zero. I'm sorry to report that in MY system, they were bettered by much lower cost cabling- they do look pretty.... Not that they did not sound good, they were just rolled off in the highs and had a truncated decay with a low mid bass boost- They were "quiet" and created a "black" background-I'll give them that. These are my thoughts on them-your opinion will surely differ. I have owned nordost valhalla, jena labs, stealth dream, Acoustic Zen Absolute, Silent source, Mogami Gold, MIT, Pranawire, acrolink, Running Springs, Cardas etc. etc. No cable will drastically alter the sound of your system. If it does, that cable is either defective or your system is.... I am sorry. I have played the cable game for years and decided I'm done now. This thread has been going on for 6 pages now so that Keith can justify his purchase of 25k+ worth of cables in a 60k$ system. No experienced audiophile I know is setup like this.... no experienced audiophile I know will forgo a preamp for anything more than test run to see if they can do without it. The fact that he talks about price rather than the actual performance (outside of painting with broad strokes) of the cables is a true sign that he really has no idea.....I don't care if you have 100 years of audiophile experience- your principles and allocation of funds to reach nirvana are in IMO misguided. but in the end, whatever makes you happy. Have fun.
@ grey9hound, @ waxwaves,, Here we go, I am puting in this morning Grey9hounds cd,1995 Blues guitar virtuso!, LOL! has a great title, so lets give er a spinn!,, happy listening!
@ waxwaves, I am happy you got the Black Diamond Racing isolation cones!, I never owned none, but do have experience with them!, they are very good!I have listened to all their models with great satiesfaction!,, the cool thing is, If you put some cones under your digital player, you can tune!, dial in a great sound, simply by moving the cones around under the player and experimenting by doing so!, the sound will change to better, worse, awsome, etc..,, you will see what I am talking about!, just do'nt put them under the player and leave them!, move them around!, you will be stunned!BTW, Taralabs is aware of all of us that like the Taralabs products now!, all the way to the presadent of the company!, you know, this thread and the other one, I do not know if they read them yet, I believe they will!, I did not come out and tell them!, word by mouth has made all of us famous with their company!,,Happy listening!
@ Grey9hound, Thankyou so much for your reaction post that Hessec posted, I was bewildered of the whole post he posted!,, I have had alot going on, I apologize for not getting to your answer of the cds,,I like the Lee Ritennour 6-string theory, Goverment mule-high and mighty year, 2006,,John Fogerty- blue moon swamp,,Santana Brothers,,April Wine-clasic masters,,Cool Blues-Denis Mix,,Dave Grusin & Lee Ritenour-Harlequin,,Dennis, I have not got to listen to all of the cds yet, I am in the process of tring to get alot of money coming my way that is owed to me, may take a couple of months to receive the money, I am fighting for another 4 to 6 thousand dollars that I can use for my system so john will not make fun of me for my stock a/c power cord that is temporary!, Just kidding john!, I am over whelmed at the process the state and fed-goverment puts me thru to get my money!, the good news, I will be getting the money!, late summer or the end of summer.,,I like the cds you sent me, That was an over the top very nice thing you did for me, Thankyou so much!,, Cheers!
@ Hessec
I am sorry to tell you , butAudiolabyrfinth is well respected here in the forum . He is a Very knowledgeable audiophile . Yes , he is pretty enthusiastic about Tara Labs cables , but it is from many years of experience and knowledge in the world of Audio . He pushes Tara ,as we all know , but like i said , it is from much experience . i have recently purchased some Tara Labs Air 1 speaker cables, and they are the best i have ever owned . So , please refrain from your uninformed responses . All of us who know him realizes that , he does get carried away with his enthusiasm, but I Truly beleive it is because he wants everone else to enjoy the experiences that he has had with cables . Yes he comes on a little strong ,and doesn't always get his words right, but he is trying to help everyone else .
So your poke at him does not sit well with folks on the forum , especially since you have it wrong.
It would be nice if you had something to add ,other than trying to be-little someone else . Really it just shows your in-maturity.
Most people who post try to add somethihg of VALUE.
Its really what these forums are for .... gaining knowledge, Not trying to call out someone else .
Please post something of Value , if not please refrain from trying to insult others .
Waxwaves loves the blues too!!! Got a killer copy of Muddy Waters "Electric Mud". Buddy Guy &Junior Wells? Jimmy Reed? Taj Mahal....Anybody here heard of The Nighthawks? Another of my favs in the blues genre. They play Down Home in Johnson City every year which is close to me in wonderful Johnson City, TN. Down Home has an excellent sound system BTW.
Come on Keith, lick those wounds and get back out here. You are loved even if you do listen to Nickelback buddy... Dennis is chomping at the bit to hear what is in your cd collection!!
Anybody use Black Diamond Racing isolation cones? Just got a couple sets of MkIII and I really like them!
Also still in love with my Air series Tara Labs!!! Awesome stuff by most folks standards I am sure of it.
Alright Keith , I am calling you out on this !
We want to know which of those Cds you like if any , PLEASE
