Importing from Japan

I realize there has already been a thread that sort of covered this but many of the postings are quite old. I really have three questions:

a. What is the tariff for stereo equipment--I want to import an Accuphase DG-68?

b. Can I trust White Rabbit Express or Audio Cubes to prepare the necessary paperwork for me to import?

c. Would I be better off posting this question to a different forum?

avanti1960 Details Discussions Posts This discussion Message User 1,474 posts 02-05-2022 at 04:45pm Copy Comment URL Report Comment Edit Delete just buy it and open the box when it gets there. no issues the few times i have ordered stuff from japan and overseas to the US. the only issues to be aware of are voltage, warranty and service. my 100 Watt japan luxman CD player requires a voltage transformer to use it with US outlets. not a big deal for low wattage sources but good ones are needed for amplifiers and they can be large and heavy. warranty is good but i am required to send it to japan for servicing. luxman USA will not service 100 volt products.

I got some gear from Japan to Au, and it showed up sitting at the door. (No tariffs) I was a bit upset that they could have been stolen. I did get 4 specialty screws stolen out of the mail box a year or two ago. 10$ screws and 20$ postage.
