If you liked the Ring DAC, you may also enjoy ...

I used to have an Arcam FMJ-23 CDP that I quite enjoyed. (Sadly, it reached the end of the road and is no longer with us.) I wonder how much of the player's sonic signature was the result of its Ring DAC, and I'm wondering, also, if anyone who is familiar with the sound of the Ring DAC might point me toward something similar.

I'm aware that dcs, which I think invented the Ring DAC, has its own products, but I'm afraid that they are priced out of my reach.

I guess what I'm asking, boiled down: If you liked the old Arcam Ring DAC sound, what DAC would you consider auditioning now?
