I2s cable not working with my DAC

I just received my new HALO MAY DAC and in trying to hook it up to my PS Audio Airlen’s I get no sound with the I2S connection. It works fine with a digital cable hook up. The same thing happens with my CD player trying to use the i2s connection. I’m befuddled.

@ssand1  Holo May has configurable pin on I2S, read your manual for directions.

I did and have been trying different settings with no luck.

A few years ago I had to return a PSAudio CDT because their I2s was not compatible with Gustard dacs.

They are compatible using the Alt 2 configuration on the May.

I had  a similar experience as @Baylinor with my PS Audio SACD transport and Gustard DAC.  Wound up going the path of least resistance and selling the Gustard and buying a PSA DAC. 

PSA customer support was extremely helpful, worked with Paul himself, figuring out the Gustard mismatch.  My recommendation would be to contact PSA about the pin variations.  What make I2S cable are you using?  I had the most success with Audioquest.
