How do I connect my Subwoofer to a two channel setup?

I’m converting my home theater into just a 2 channel audio setup.

For now I’m just going to play digital files from my computer. Computer | DAC | Preamp | Amp | Speakers.

What I currently have:

Polk LsiM703’s

SB SV-2000

Parasound HCA 1500A

I plan to add a Schiit Sega+ preamp and Modi 3 DAC

Question how should I connect my SVS SB2000 subwoofer since I’m taking the A/V receiver out?

The sub has a L&R Input and L&R line level out.

The Parasound has L&R input, L&R loop outputs, and of course L&R speaker outputs.

The preamp will have 5 pair of inputs, and 2 pair of outputs.

Yes...I’m a n00b.

Thanks!

Called SVS since it was their sub.

Just going to go from the 2nd pair of outputs on the preamp to the inputs on the Sub and mess with the crossover... I think.
If you want to use the high pass filter in the sub you will go from outputs from preamp to inputs of sub then from outputs from sub to inputs of amp. If you want to run the speakers full range then you will go from outputs of preamp to inputs of sub and the second preamp outputs to inputs of amp. Page nine in owners manual shows how to hookup both ways!

YogiBoy.

Your explanation makes sense and I understand it!

I did see that page in the manual but I found it confusing, I wasn't sure why they were showing Y splitters at first.

I just read  on page 9 "If the pre/pro does not have a spare set of line level outputs, a 1M-2F Y-adapter may be used on each pre/pro output in order to split the signal and allow connection to both the loudspeaker amplifier and the subwoofer amplifier. "

The Saga+ pre does have two PAIR of outputs.

Now the question is, which method is better or will sound better!

If the preamp has two pairs of outputs there would be no reason to use a Y-adapter!
Wait, what? Two sets of pre-out? Went through all that only to learn there's two sets of pre-out? ??

So did we eventually figure out the answer is .... use em?!?!
We did.  As I stated I was basically new to this world.  I only had a home theater setup before this.  I am in the process of buying a pre/dac and creating my first (descent) sounding two channel setup.

Even though I read the instructions of the subwoofer I was a little confused with the diagram showing a y splitter.

....and why I ended up here asking people with more knowledge.
