I for one am a FAN! It did not take long for me to experience the positive affects! I now have 8 in my system. They are now invaluable. At first plug in, there's a sense of more forward, maybe a clearer perspective. 24 hours later... this forwardness disappears, the relaxing nature of the music comes forward. 36 hours ...the things are singing... I want more! |
@68pete ,@ tubegb, I'm thinking of getting another MC.05 I haven't decided on which one yet. Maybe someone here could steer me into which one. I have right now 1 Mc.05 helix Signature in the outlet feeding my system. I have a surge protector strip should the new mc.05 be put in another outlet on the same line as the first one feeding system. Or in the surge protector strip to give me the best result ? aseaman007 I feel any of the level of MC 05s will work well with what you have. Of course the Helix version would be the bigger bump in performance. As far as placement at the wall was best for me. But i do have their MC 6 Hemisphere that i use as a power strip full of MC 05s and a few MC pro level plugged into it. It works well to. You may have to do a trial and error with what you add. I am sure it will be a plus where ever you use it. Which space is better, your ears will have to decided. What would be ideal if you could swing 2 units. Plug one in at one of the spots you're think of and listen for a couple of days then add the other unit to the other spots and compare. Please post back on what you do and your findings. |
Happy Turkey day all, After reading everyones feed back I'm alittle confused, at my age 63. I'm not sure I will hear a difference in a reg. Mc .05 vs Mc 05 helix signature which I have one already, I was thinking a reg one but with you guys having 48, 16, 12 mc 05s sounds like its very minimal change if at all. Sounds like the pro1 makes a huge jump, just didnt want to spend that amount. I see its a great deal right now so Im kinda stuck in my mind. Lol Any help here would be great.. Rock on... 👍 |
aseaman007 You will hear a difference. Adding either one will improve your sound. The Helix will take a little longer to get you there, but is worth it. I just order a couple more, since the Black Friday sale is a no brainer. You cannot go wrong with any level. The higher up the better the sound becomes fuller and detailed. Right now with the sell price it's a win win. |
@68pete Thxs for the help Pete, I’ve been amazed at the sound quality since I’ve had my one MC .05 helix sig in place since April 2020 without moving it. Not sure my old ears can hear it get any better then it is. Lol I have Klipsch horns now, like I told Rick its pretty darn good to my ears now. But son of a gun it improved. Wow. That’s only one... Dang. 😊 But separation is magnified 10 fold, hearing things I never heard before in the music. Tap some old 60s music I said to myself, was the music recorded in a better way then todays music ? I’m perplexed in How, pinpoint laser electrons do that much to the signal & sound. Well I’m enjoying except for neighbors won’t let me listen at high level. But its ok. Lol Rock on guys. |
Took advantage of the Black Friday Sale and add 2 more MC 0.5 Helix Plus Signature wave guides. One to each line, amp and front end. It did not take long to hear the better difference. Sound just got cleaner sounding with no hard edges. Sound stage has not changed, but everything in it is better. Bass is much stronger, with more air around it. Things in the back of the sound stage are much stronger sounding while not moving from the back. The depth of sound stage is full intact but better sounding. |
Hey 68Pete, I ordered another MC .05 helix signature just waiting on it. I guess the black friday was a big success for HFC company, waiting is 3 weeks before its mailed out. Cant wait for it but then wait 400hrs to hear if it improves any in my system. I will be amazed if it does improve since it sounds pretty awesome right now. Was just enjoy some old Leon Russell & Van Morrison songs. 😊 |
aseaman007 They told me a couple of weeks also for shipping and it was about a week. I feel it will improve your system some more. Mine did not not take long before i heard stuff improve. I think the more you have in your system the quicker they seem to improve- but that could be me. Lets us know when you get it and where you place it in your system. |
@68pete Well I plugged the regular Mc 05 in another outlet on the same line, its been in since 12/16 7pm. Just listened for a bit I haven't noticed anything yet, but funny thing happened I ordered this reg. one then called in a few days later and changed it to another Mc 05 helix sig. Then when it came it was the reg. one I was surprised I noticed when going to plug it in the outlet. So I called the nxt day, spoke to Casey great people work there. He gave me a deal on the one I have now & helix sig is on its way. Not sure if I'm going to really hear a difference, it sounds pretty damn good. I think since the second one is plugged in I think I did notice a drop in volume slightly. But I'm sure as the first one it will rebound at a higher volume, so I will back it down a couple notches again. Lol I'm not an expert but this product deffinitely changed my system for the better. At first I didn't believe that was possible, I'm cooking up my crow right now. Lol Well, either my hearing is improving as I listen or this product works ! |
aseaman007 I would plug them all into the same wall socket. Use a 3 to 1 splitter plug. they are orange or green in color. You can stack the plugs on top of each other to add more. They sell them at Home depot or Lowes. You may find you like that better i did. The quietness- blackness between each note or sound is a good thing. Casey is five star to work with he knows me well. For that matter the whole crew is great at High Fidelity Cable. |
Morning Everyone, Well 68pete yesterday sat down listened for about an hour, it didnt sound good to me compared to days before new mc .05 was plugged in same outlet as first mc05 helix signature, wonder how long with the regular mc05 will take to dial back into original sound. Funny thing I spent extra money on a audiophile outlet then put a 2.00 adapter in the path. Crazy. Rock on peeps |
