Help with RealTek PC audio

Hello, I was using a optical cable from my PC to a Monarchy Audio DIP, output via XLR digital cable to a MSB Link DAC then out via a pair of RCA’s to a Modwright SWL 9.0 pre amp. I use a Antique Sound labs tubed headphone amp. I then would plug a Bose 2.1 audio system into the headphone amps 1/8 inch output. Works amazing, improves the standard PC sound by a lot, games or Spotify all sound way better, i can even listen to my HD600 headphones.

The BAD: I turned on my PC one day only to discover no sound! Plus now my DAC is showing 48KHz. So, i check all the Realtek settings and even though I put the Digital out on 16/44 (and the PC shows this) it still shows 48HKz on my DAC which will not work, it needs a standard 16/44KHz signal to work I think. bummed.

I'm sure your MSB can handle 48 kHz just fine too. :)

There was a recent Windows update which munged all my sound. The solution was easy once I found it.

Right click the speaker icon on the bottom right.

Open Sound Settings

Sound Control Panel (on the right)

Playback tab

RealTek Digital Output

Properties

Advanced

Disable "Enable Audio Enhancements"
