Help find an amp for Soundly speakers

A buddy of mine has a set of Soundlab Dynastat speakers and the Belos 150 he was driving them with has died. He's looking for a used amp of sufficient power to  drive his speakers for less than $2,000. I always felt his speakers could use a more powerful amp to properly drive the panels than what the Belos provided. Any suggestions on what to look for?

Thanks,

Joe Chip

Perreaux 2150B will do the job! 340/680/920wpc@8/4/2ohms - 65lbs. I have one for use with hard-to-drive speakers. I bought mine on eBay for $900.

@jchiappinelli

We showed with Dynastats at the summer CES in Chicago in the early 90s. We used our 60 Watt M-60 amplifiers, which had far more power than we could use in that room. So I think you don’t need a particularly powerful amplifier but you do need some power.

I think they made a change to the Dynastat sometime in the mid or late 90s that, like changes to the rest of the line at the time, made the speaker much harder to drive. As best we can make out its an error in the crossover and it might be worth it to contact Sound Lab as there may well be an update for it.
