Has anyone here had any dealings with Tekton, particularly their subwoofers

As I explore options for replacing equipment I am it seems constantly finding new sources of components to consider. Tekton has appeared on my radar due to another thread here at audiogon. I just wondered if anyone has gone this direction for subwoofers in particular, but I also have questions about their full range speakers and what they are like to deal with. Given that the world of hi-fi has become even more of a smoke and mirrors game than it has been in the past, I am more cautious about who I am willing to throw down money for than I ever have been.

I guess this might be something to consider…

I’d say its a toss up between that laughable Tekton speaker pictured above and the supreme joke of Tralfamador...actually I think the real prize should go to complete system composed of Mac separates with Tektons as the main left and right with Tralfamadors as the surrounds with a phantom center. Anyone support that notion? And now for the real question: Who among you could walk into a room filled with a system like I just described without laughing out loud?

There are so many people on this forum who are, as Corelli has hinted, like little children. They don’t like something, so they bash it. The OP had already trashed Tekton speakers before he made this post asking about their subwoofers. My first post are HIS comments on another thread. So yes, he is gone…. Like a little child who can’t stand other opinions and just wants to trash what he doesn’t like. Maybe the OP will invent another user name and start trashing something else….

I have Tekton speakers. I have grills… I put on them. They look like 90% of all other speakers out there in hifi land. Not liking the way the speakers look without grills is kinda silly to me.

OP good luck on your search. BTW before you start trashing a speaker brand maybe you should listen to it first.

I have Tekton speakers and HAVE dealt with Eric Alexander. Speakers sounded terrific and he was a pleasure to deal with. In fact, once I had a failed driver and Eric and crew took care of the problem and sent me another driver, no hassle at all.
Some people offer negative opinions but don’t offer direct experience with the company. I often wonder if they regurgitate what other negative things they have heard. I doubt very seriously these people have ACTUALLY HEARD THE SPEAKERS and even fewer have owned them. Sometimes you can look up other comments posters have made on other topics. If you see, most often, negative opinions and not positive ones you get to “see” how unhelpful these opinions can be.

Point taken. I have heard some the controversy around Eric. I agree with you about any lessons that can be learned. In some of these cases, he would have to know, he will lose business. And to all here, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
