I guess that makes me vintage too, almost none of it was vintage when I bought it.
Got my baby back!
Got my parts back from Bruce at Eminent Technology yesterday. I have to say he is a pleasure to deal with.
I put the arm back together, mounted my Supex SDX-1100R on one of the magnesium arm tubes , checked, adjusted rechecked, readjusted, shampoo, rinse repeat.
In the interim I upgraded the motor on my TNT 4, which worked out great. Also, picked up a Emotiva XSP-1 preamp (dealer demo), and a PS Audio S300 (and got VERY generous trade in on my old PS Audio 5.0 preamp).
I've been listening with the new electronics using my secondary turntable, a Denon DP-1250 with a Magnepan Unitrac 1 tonearm, switching between an old Monster alpha MC and a Grado Platinum woodie for the past few weeks, very satisfied with the sound.
So I finally spun up my first record on the newly set up and WOW. I mean WOW! Did I say WOW!?
I could get into all the audiophiley terms and descriptions, but I won't. All I will say is the thunderstorm at the beginning of my early self-titled Black Sabbath albn my listening room. My wife called down from upstairs and asked if I heard thunder, that she looked outside and it was clear (ok. so I might have had it turned up a little too loud ;).
Now I'm just going to listen to my records and enjoy the hell out of them.
