I use inverted cones with my Rega 25. The wide part is on the table top with the points facing up. I use 3 cones and position them in the wood surround from below. Works very well.
I would go with the Rega wall shelf and then experiment affordably with a thick Maple in conjunction with Sorbothane pucks between the Maple and the shelf and brass cones between the TT and the Maple.
Investigate Machina Dynamica Promethean Springs are extrremely cost effective. They would simply go between the TT and what ever shelf you use. Now, that shelf could make a sonic difference, but you can play with maple cutting baards, granite...
