Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?

Hi-
Any one else out there using these Gabriel Gold IC's?
I need to know if it is me or if anyone else finds them as good as me.
I bought a pair on auction a while back and compared them to my Stealth cables.
After about a week of going back and forth I found the Gabriel Golds to have bettered my Stealths and bought more.
Is it me?
Just wondering what some other folks who bought them think of them.
Thanks for the input.

Sutts,

I talked about the GG price/performance ratio in an earlier thread. Steve's inappropriate response was to ridicule my company's products -- and me personally, which I found astonishing. Very unprofessional, IMO. By the way. I am not in the audio business.

Being a web-based marketer, Gabriel Gold could disappear tomorrow, and THEN what would happen to resale on these cables?

As someone who owned some Ridge Street Audio Design cables/cords when Robert Schult decided to pull the plug, you don't really want to know that answer to that question Sutts.

It does not diminish the quality of the cables at all, but it certainly damages the monetary value of the cables as far as resale is concerned. Now some buyers may love it, as they will get great bargains, sellers, not so much so.
So Steve has offered trade-up towards Halo provided I pay full pop for a 1m Halo IC @ $4,000. Seriously? How am I going to feel (like I am now with the original Reflections that I paid $2k for) when Halo 'V2' is launched a year or so from now, and being 'consistently auctioned' (like the Reflection V2 are at a fraction of the original's price) at say $800-$1,000, when I paid $4,000 a year earlier for a product that is apparently 'improved', and at a fraction of the retail price of the original version. Are any other cable companies employing this strategy? Furthermore, Steve can not be called to discuss any of this- only contacted through Audiogon. Being a web-based marketer, Gabriel Gold could disappear tomorrow, and THEN what would happen to resale on these cables? All that being said, in his defence, I will say that Steve is good to deal with, and I do still like the GG cables- the marketing strategy, not so much...
Kedoades- I understand EBM's passion for Stealth.
I was big Indra fan before I started designing cables.
Hi Steve, I am still waiting on the post office to deliver the cord. I guess I was not home to sign for it when they came by.
As far as Ebm is concerned, well he is a fanboy for stealth, which usually means much more money.

JMC : Did you see some of my postings on that other thread in question.I stand guilty as I strongly suggested the member stick to quoting the companies website versus providing members with his own interpretations of technical information. The newly found wonders of "copy and paste" exploited and taken to greater heights.

Yessir, it looks like someone has reached the 2nd grade level of internet use: How to copy and paste. Well, baby steps Steve, last year, he just told folks what website to go to and read. Now, he's learned how to copy and paste.

What next??? Maybe learn how to insert a link on the forums??? ;^)

Cheers,
John
Hi Steve,
You would think a moderator would recognize a long post with its glossy salesmanship wording as a copy and paste and simply not post it. Especially from certain recognized posters.

Cris (Csmgolf), basically this was a childish backlash from Keith (audiolabyrinth) because Steve (Sts) posted this on Keith's silly Tara Labs thread, which is basically a thread where Keith just talks to himself.

Audiolabyrinth- Question ?
Is all of the technical information, specifications and reviews you provide on this thread available on Tara Labs website?
If so , why don't you just say "I love Tara Labs and they work the best for me. I think they are the best in the world. Check out there website"

I think people could handle that and have the capability of researching Tara Labs and viewing their website on there own !
Running up hits on this thread by basically you (about 90% are YOU) IMHO does no positive service to Tara Labs.
Unless you are trying to catch up with the HF thread?
In that case keep plugging away !!!!!!

FWIW Steve, you have Keith pegged perfectly. To him, it is a race against the High Fidelity cable thread. He counts views and posts. What he doesn't realize is that the views are folks tuning in for sh!ts and giggles. It's like watching a train wreck.
sts, why do you post here?, they can go to your web-site!
Audiolabyrinth (Threads | Answers | This Thread)

There was a question about his products and his business which he answered directly. Not only is that within his rights, he should be here answering that type of question when it is asked here.

That, of course, is in direct contrast to someone here who has taken it upon himself to copy and paste an entire company's website in a different thread even though he has absolutely zero financial interest in said company. This same person assesses his own knowledge and value to the community by how many times he posts, no matter how inane. He just happens to be petty enough that he would take a jab at Steve because a comment was made on the other thread (what Steve said was right on the money IMO). LOL
I have the original reflection interconnects(great product). I have a pair of the new v2 version coming today. Can't wait to see the new website.
So Steve, are you making any new power cables? I have two of the original reflection power cables and like them very much. I will post my findings on the new v2 reflections in the near future
Steve- as you do not use a dealer network, and as I have paid you ~ $2,000 for an apparently now 'improved' product that is selling at a faction of that price, I would have thought the least you could do is offer a trade towards a Halo interconnect or something that would show you support a loyal customer (I have two Reflection IC's; Reflection speaker cables; and Rapture R IC's as well).
Hello - Sutts
The original Reflection use to be the top of the line offering from GG.
The NEW Reflection v2 is now the entry level cable from GG.
I considered dropping the Reflection name and calling it something else, however, I am fond of the name and the cables aesthetics. The projected retail/direct cost of the v2 is LOWER primarily because less Gold is used in the design. However, with the addition of the NEW connector, conductor material and re-worked internal geometry I prefer the sonic character of the v2 over the original.IMHO the V2 is a more organic sounding cable.BTW if you are still using the original Reflection as so many others are, then you are still listening to a great interconnect.I am truly sorry the promotional auctions are having such a negative effect on you.As you may be aware I'm not one for big ad campaigns or reviews.
The money I'm losing on the promotional auctions for the RCA version of the V2 is creating interest from both new and established clients and I am getting great feedback on the NEW v2
The website is in the process of being revamped and will offer info on the GG Essential Line which consist of the Reflection v2 and the soon to be released Impression along with the Premier Line which consist of the Infusion and the HALO products.
If curious an in depth customer review is available on this site along with other sites for the Gabriel Gold Infusion interconnect. An additional customer review of the Reflection v2 by another member is said to be in the works.I still strongly believe the best reviewers are the folks who listen for themselves and trust their own ears.Thank you Audiogon for allowing me to share this info and my thoughts.

Sutts - when one wants what they feel is the cutting edge of something at that time it can end up costing quite a bit to have it.

I think our first family Sony beta-max was in the vicinity of $1800($CDN) in the 80's - ouch. $1800 today is a lot of money to me, let alone at that time - I don't think my first 5 beater cars all of which I bought myself, cost me that much all in.

Still, a painful reflection on your part...

What I do NOT like are the new much lower prices on auction for supposedly better versions. I have paid Steve like $2,000 for original Reflection IC's- look at the asking prices now...

OUCH! That's gotta hurt!

One great thing about the GG's is that for the price you can get them for on the auctions, if you don't think they are better, you can easily get your money back, or at least very close to it, in resale value. Or take advantage of Steve's return policy. Either way you don't have a whole lot to lose. So instead of relying on someone else's opinion you might consider that. I never tried the V1's but I can tell you that I'm happy enough with the V2's to not worry about IC's any more.
I would like to hear from people who have upgrade their reflection interconnects with the new refection v2. Did you notice any improvement with the new cable?
Dragon1952-Thanks for the comment.
Gabriel Gold has thrived for over 12 years without any press at all primarily due to "word of mouth" , repeat customers along with Audiogon postings.

why no formal reviews?

"IÂ’ve had a number of trade publications request review samples over the years, I have graciously declined. as my focus has been and always will be the ultimate reviewer - - You The Customer ! With hundreds of discussions and great testimonials/feedback I feel confident IÂ’m on the right path."

Not sure why these don't get more press. Both the Rapture and Reflection IC's are exceptional. At their auction prices they are ridiculous bargains.
Hi first started with GG Revelation then upgraded to Rapture then again to Rapture R now just bought a pair of GG Rapture V3 speaker cables i love these cables now i will be waiting for a used pair of GG Reflection 1 meter Balanced.

Directional flow of cables used and new
End labeled Gabriel Gold = From
End labeled Revelation, Rapture, Rapture R.
Reflection, etc = to.
Cable cooker/cable burn in device should not be used with NEW models Rapture v3, Reflection v2, Infusion and HALO.

Ebm,

You wrote" Not really Dudes!!"

We know you were joking and so was I but please explain your joke as it is over my head.

Ebm, stealth v10 is also over 5 grand for the interconnects, not really a fair comparison

Hello Sutts, just wondering how do you like the SC's, I have two reflection PC's and one pair IC's and love the sound. Kent
Steve- I noticed the Halo IC's are still not listed on the website- when is that coming? Also- let me know if you are interested in a beta tester- I own Reflection IC's and SC's, and would like to see how the Halo compares...

The reflection power cable is now discontinued and the new power cord is called the infusion, looks a little fatter than the reflection, I would be interested if anyone had tried this cord yet, I have to of the reflection power cables and I have the reflection interconnects, all great products
Kedoades, thank you for the update, Did yu compare the reflection PC with lessloss original or more expensive version? I am waiting for reflections ICs and SCs from Steve. I was wondering how reflection power cords stuck up against brands like shunyata, purist audio or stealth?
O.K. so nobody answered my question about the reflection power cable, so I saw one of them on audiogon and bought it. It took a couple hours to settle into my system but when everthing was warmed up I couldn't believe how good this power cable is. My speakers sounded much better after this cord was added, deeper and more detailed bass, a very sweet midrange, and the highs were detailed and smooth. The cord has a slight warm sound, which is perfect for my speakers (Tyler acoustic decade d1). It replaced a lessloss cord which is also a very nice cord but to my suprise the lessloss cord was not even close to the reflections performance. This is a very good power cable
Has anyone tried one of the reflection power cables, I would be interested in what they thought?

Budburma-
Thanks for the kind words on the GG's .
I also agree on your thoughts on the BMI AC Cords.
Great power cord and certainly something to inspire me to create.

Are you still active on Agon?

It seems like a lot of the gremlins are out of the system.

sts
Hey you Tweaker!
I have yet to find a better ic than the gabriel gold line.....even the entry level leaves a lot of competitors behind. I would say to my ears and in my particular system, but I just too a pair of Rapture r's and a pair of Passions over to a friend's place who has a less refined system (and completely different from end to end...although all ss like mine) and he was transmogrified into a cable believer. He was blown away, both joyous and saddened at once as his paradigm of aftermarket cabling making no difference crumbled. And, he couldn't stand the Raptures because they were too revealing of the shortcomings in his system. His words, not mine! He loved the Passions, but wants to build his system to accomodate the Rapture R's.

That was his experience...and mine has been very little different. The Rapture R's raised the sonic bar as have all of Steve's iterations to this date. I hear and see music pouring forth in a nuanced and meditative way that is transporting. It's weird, but I can't wait to get home to listen. FWIW, I use Rapture r sc's and ic's and they just catapult each other into a realm of natural sonic reproduction and stage that is so satisfying that I just don't tire of it.
