From separate streamer and DAC to al-in-one suggestion

I'm contemplating moving from my setup:

Lumin U1 Mini w/sbooster LPS -> Audio Mirror Tubadour SE III DAC

to an all-in-one unit. I will use it strictly as a Roon endpoint. Since there are no R2R NOS type streamers, I've been looking at the AK based ones, like

Rose RS150
Cary DMS-600/650

Also rest of system is Omega 98db speakers, Slagle Autoformer Preamp -> Oliver Sayes 421a based tube amp.

Wonder if I'll be happy with the latest sigma/delta dacs in a all-in-one type unit. Anyone else made a similar move to mine?

An all in one is the level headed way to do it. Just like getting a well sorted CDP, you eliminate an extra box, cabling and all the ways added noise can find it's way in. Timing issues should go right out the window as well.

As for going for one with a AKM chip, I can wholeheartedly approve that move. I don't stream but my Technics SL-G700 SACD player is simply sublime in presentation, presenting an almost analog sound to the music that's so far from the other digital players I've had that it still amazes me.

The only caveat is it will take a good 6 weeks to break in and there will be times when you're wondering when it's all going to happen but when it does, it's a beautiful thing. There's a reason they call it their Velvet Sound chip. All the positives of digital and lots of that analog ease. Good luck.

All the best,
