Thanks for sharing. But, that would have been an interesting and informative article twenty years ago.
In the mean time, DAC and streaming technology have powered forward and can sound as good or better than CDs, stored files and vinyl. It is all in your component choices and can be true at most levels of investment. I have an outstanding vinyl / analog end and it sounds like my digital streaming / CD end.
