Filter Overkill

I use JRiver MC which has all the high and low pass filters one would ever need for speaker and subwoofer implementation and set up.  That runs into an amp, which also has high and low pass filters for subwoofer and speaker integration.  That outputs to my speakers and subwoofers which have yet another set of high and low pass filters built into them.   I am smart enough to know not to utilize all these layers of filters, but in a situation like this, which one of these devices would you use for bass integration, and why?

All of that depends on measurements.   If your amp has only basic settings, but Jriver gives you fine level control I'd go with JRiver.  Plus, most subs can use at least a little EQ to tame a room mode or two.  Minimize the number of tools you have doing that.

I forgot to mention I'll run Dirac Live Room Correction Suite after I set all my filter parameters.

Depends on what you need and what exactly the capabilities are. 

Subwoofer integration requires some finesse to do perfectly, such as time delay and setting the slopes correctly.
