Feedback, thoughts, real experience with the Bergmann Magna turntable?

“Magne” (won’t let me edit title for some reason)

I’m interested if anyone has any direct or indirect experience with this turntable? Seems to have a great reputation.
Thx in advance !

Heard it at a show.

Very Euro looking. Nice aesthetic along with expected performance(considering price point).
Definitely have the appropriate phonostage and the rest of your system at the same level.

@tablejockey

Thanks. Not many reviews or couldn’t find much on all the audio forums. Not sure what that implies if anything. Comes with the sound-smith paua mkII cart which seems like a perfect synergy with my new Andros deluxe II phonostage.

Well, you will have "the right stuff". The SS cart is a winner. The Bergmann is one of those Euro companies that just doesn't have much exposure in the US?

I would just be concerned with after sales support from the dealer/distributor or directly from Bergmann(which is a possible worry, being they're in Denmark). As mentioned, it performed and looks the part of a "hi end" setup. I really like the Euro aesthetic.

I always wanted a linear setup. If my budget allowed, I would consider one.
So I’ve had this table and SS cart for 3 weeks now and it’s a sizeable step up in sonics from my previous Rega P10 /Aphelion2 which shared the same room for about a week before I had to say goodbye to the Rega when it sold.

I actually can’t get over how there is such an increase in fidelity. I loved the Rega and its low mass engineering philosophy and thought of it as an endgame component. I hesitate to put into words the differences with adjectives all reviewers and the like throw around so I’ll just say that this combination is noticeably more explosive in dynamics and subtle cues which to me means a more holographic soundstage and leave it at that.

My local dealer really nailed the synergies of the linear tracking and Soundsmith Paua mkII  cart.

I even got a little crazy and upgraded the generic Bergmann record weight with the Stillpoint Ultra LP Isolator II and that is a beautifully crafted 1.5 lb piece of steel. It’s also so easy to A/B the differences back and forth on the same song between no weight, the generic, and the Stillpoint.
