EXPEREINCE WITH AYON

I owned an Ayon CD1 SC - and I LOVED it!  Great detail, transparency and build.

I wanted to purchase the SET Ayon mono blocks - and had to deal with the only dealer in the USA.  After exchanging emails and phone discussions, it was clear tp me that the Ayon dealership in the USA is run by a jerk.  Unfortunately, the salesman I was dealing with was not truthful and lacked interpersonal skills.

I called on my old friend, Anthony of Perrotta Consulting to see if I could order the Ayon through him.  Anthony is a perpetual nice guy and so easy to deal with.  Anyway, Anthony told me he will not deal with Ayon any longer - citing issues with defects and also referencing the difficulties in dealing with the owner...he called him a Richard (read Dick) as I recall :)

Ayon International would not respond to any of my emails - so I gave up.  Bad reputation + poor support = Bad customer experience.

@soix   They have never been big in the US.  Of course I'm the kind that tries to stay away from the crowd.  You know then pieces that get recommended a dozen times every day, often by people who have never heard them but read the Stereophile list....not my favorite place to be.

Ayon is still supported in the US by USA Tube audio. They have been very responsive to my questions.  I have never needed any service.

@carlsbad Beautiful amp.  Too bad it sounds like they’re pursuing the “going outta business” strategy at least in the US.

I have an Ayon Spark Delta which I bought used and it is awesome.  the 4x 6c33c are too much heat for me without air conditioning so I have moved to a Decware amp and intend to sell the Ayon but I have nothing bad to say about them.

Since it is winter, I had it out listening to it just the other night.
